How to Make Easy Money Online

I have been working online since 2003 and have come across many schemes and scams to make easy money.  In this lens I'm going to tell you how I've been making money online all these years.

My main source of income is through my two websites: paid surveys and apply for a credit card, but even if you don't have the time or know-how to create a website you can still make money.  Some easier ways to make money include writing articles for sites like Squidoo, being a mystery shopper, participating in online surveys, reading paid emails, and getting paid to post on a forum.

Participate in Paid Surveys

When I first started making money online, I started with paid surveys. I saw an ad about paid surveys somewhere and it sounded good. I mean who doesn't want to make easy extra money? The ad sounded a little too good to be true and it was. You can't become rich by participating in paid surveys, but you can make some money. I usually make between $1.00 to $5.00 per survey. This might not sound like much, but it can add up if you take several surveys a week.

The best thing to do is to sign up with several market research sites and try and complete as many surveys as you can. You will receive survey invitations in your email, but they do not send you spam or share your information. I have written reviews of some of my favorite survey sites: Opinion Outpost, MySurvey, Greenfield Online, and Your2Cents. If you can't complete a survey don't get discouraged, you won't be able to complete every survey you are invited to take.

Mystery Shopper

Although you can't perform a mystery shopper's duties online you can still sign up with different mystery shopping companies online, and you can receive invitations for shops in your area through your email or over the phone.

If you don't know what a mystery shopper is or you would like some additional information, here is a brief overview:

  • You will be assigned a shop (job)
  • During a shop you must pay close attention to the employees, how they treat you, and the time it takes to order and be served (or waited on if not at a restaurant)
  • You fill out a form after the shop is over
  • You will be compensated for your time. Usually you will receive money for the item you purchased and some monetary compensation

  • A shop will take between 15 minutes to an hour to complete depending on how in-depth it is. For more information about mystery shopping you can read my article: get paid to shop. One of my favorite mystery shopping companies is ShopNChek.

    Pay to Post

Another way to make some easy money and have fun is to participate in a pay per post forum. This is another low paying project; between $0.01 to $0.50 per post. Like paid email sites, you can also make money by referring others. It differs from site to site, but you can either earn a flat referral commission or a percent of what each referral makes. One popular site is myLot.

    Write Articles

If you enjoy writing and want to make some extra money, I highly recommend that you try writing articles for other websites. It is not very time consuming (maybe a couple hours to complete one good article) and you can choose which topic you want to write about.

There are several other websites that pay members to write articles. I have already written reviews of Associated Content, Epinions, Helium, eHow, and Squidoo. These reviews tell you how much money I have made by using these sites and which ones I recommend writing for. Each site has its own different payment plan, some pay for each article up front, some pay you for each page view your article receives. Be sure to read my reviews about them before you decide which one you want to write for.

I have also written an article about my experience with getting paid to write articles. This article gives you some good tips about which topics will make you the most money.

    Read Paid Emails

If your schedule doesn't allow you to spend time going out and to participate in a mystery shop, an easier way to make money is by reading paid emails. This is a pretty low paying task, about $0.01 to $0.05 per email, and you can't receive payment until you've made at least $10.00 to $30.00 depending on the site.

So why even bother doing paid emails? It doesn't sound like you will make that much money with them and it will take forever to reach the payout minimum. I'll tell you why, because you can refer other people and you will make money whenever they read a paid email. I'm not just talking about referring your friends, you need to refer hundreds of people to get a decent pay out. Currently I am averaging over $50.00 a month with each of these sites; Hits4Pay, InboxDollars, CashCrate, and Treasure Trooper, but I also have hundreds of referrals for each one. I'll tell you more about how I refer people in the last paragraph.

    Putting it All Together

You might be thinking like I was a few years ago, is this worth all the effort? Is this really considered easy money? You can make money by doing all these activities, but a way to maximize your income is to combine them. One way to do this is to write an article about one of your favorite survey company, paid email site, or pay per post site. This way you will be killing two birds with one stone. You will make money from the article and you might get some referrals from the article and they will make you more money.
