How to Make $2,000 Cleaning Out Your Garage, Attic, or Basement!

...quick eBay money secrets!...

One of the best ways to generate quick money is to start at home. The average American has over $2,000 of stuff they don't use in their house. One person's junk is literally another's treasure, on eBay.

The only issue is how to find this stuff, figure out what it's going to sell for, and get it listed and sold. Fortunately, that's not that difficult. Just follow some of the tips in this article, and you should be able to get up and running within half a day.

The first thing you need to do is to take stock of what you have. Don't judge what you have. Don't think that no one's going to want that 20-year old fishing rod that you haven't used since you were 15. Just get an idea of what types of things you could sell.

You can basically sell anything on eBay. Everything from clothes, used shoes, lamps, odds and ends, old sports equipment, old books, old kitchen implements, all of these things are in high demand.

You have to get over the "no one will want this" attitude. The beauty of eBay is that there's a person out there who's willing to spend money on virtually everything.

So, first thing make a pile of stuff you haven't used over the past year, or six months. If you haven't touched it in six months, then chances are you don't really need whatever that is. So, why not turn it into cold hard cash.

A great place to start is always the kitchen. Old plates, silverware, mugs, cooking pots and pans, and other cooking implements are in high demand. If you've got something that's only slighly old, you can list it as a "collectible".

In your garage look at old sports equipment and your kids old toys. Now, you might not want to sell everything, but you would be amazed at some of the prices this stuff will command on eBay. The items you sell don't have to be "brand new" looking either. A collection of your son's trucks that he hasn't played with for the past ten years would sell nicely, even though some of the wheels are off or the headlights are broken. Your not going to sell this stuff for what you would sell new toys for, but all it's doing is sitting there gathering dust. You might as well be making some money off of it.

Old sheets, pillow cases, clothes that don't fit anymore, virtually anything can be sold on eBay. Take a look at recent sales. Also, make sure you look at the "completed items" in order to get prices of what things actually sold for. This will give you a good idea of what your item is worth

Tips for Listing on eBay

...get the most money for your stuff!...

Millions of things are sold on eBay each and every day. You can virtually sell anything. Not only can you sell your "junk", but you can sell ebooks that you've written and cd's that you've made. You can sell new items, too. You can buy in bulk, then sell retail. Or, you can even do what's called "dropshipping", where you sell a new item, but the company that makes or warehouses the item actually sends the item to your buyer. You never have to bother with any inventory. Of course, you make less money, but still!

This doesn't mean that you can sell anything each and every time you list it. There are a few important things to know about listing and selling an item on eBay that will help you sell for more and have a greater percentage of your listings sell.

The first thing you need to figure out is about how much your item might sell for. Now, this is not a hard and fast rule. In an auction, you can sell two of the same thing and have one sell for $10 and the other sell for $3.50. It all has to do with how many "eyeballs" see your auction.

Once you determine a general price range and what you can expect, you need to think about what price you're going to start at. In general, the lower the better. What gets buyers involved in auctions is the feeling that they're getting a deal. It often happens that buyers will start bidding on an item and end up paying more than they would have normally, just because they get emotionally invested in winning their bid. That's the beauty of the auction system for sellers!

Now, if you're selling an item you actually own, you're going to need a picture. Take a digital photo of it, and download that photo to your computer. Don't worry about the details. You use something like Microsoft Photo to edit and crop your photo, Once you've done that, you'll be prompted in the actual listing to browse your computer and upload it to eBay. It's all very easy and takes care of itself.

One final tip: you can sell all over the world! Open your listing up to as many buyers as possible. Sell to Europe, Asia, Australia,...everywhere! The more people who are looking at your listing, the more you're going to sell it for.
