We visited Eglinton Subway and York Mills Subway on March 10, 2012 while doing a psychic walk trying to find Mariam Makhniashvili's energy. We stopped in here for a bite to eat because I felt the need to go here.
We had no idea where Earl Bales park was and after asking many people we'd just about given up hope. Then I walked into the back of this delicious gourmet pizzeria and found a MAP!
The guy cooking that day was so helpful. He pulled out his GPS and I asked him if he knew of a golf course close to Hwy 401 that was near Eglinton Ave. He searched on there and found Don Valley Golf Course and we figured out that Harold and I needed to go up two more subway stops to York Mills in order to walk towards this golf course.
We've never been in the area there in our lives... so we had some pizza.. I loved the chicken, mushroom red pepper one with loads of tasty cheese on it.. It's the BEST gourmet pizza I've ever had in my life!
Can't wait to go back and visit them again in future travels..
From there we went to york mills and walked around till we found the golf course and the where Mariam Makhniashvili's human remains were found feb 28 2012.
We were able to finish our psychic investigation in time, thanks to these folks for helping us find our way!!!

Betty's Chocolate Turtle Dessert Pizza Recipe

Betty demonstrates how to make a sinfully rich, delightfully decadent dessert, Chocolate Turtle Dessert Pizza. It's a mixture of everything you love--but it is not light on the calories!
Ingredients;
16 oz. Nestle Toll House Brownie Bites cookie dough
1/2 recipe of cream cheese frosting (See Betty's Fresh Fruit Pizza for the recipe, or used canned frosting.)
8 oz. caramel topping
toppings--some combination of any of these: miniature marshmallows, semisweet chocolate chips, chopped pecans, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, milk chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, maraschino cherries, sliced almonds
For garnish:
Reddi-Wip
stemmed maraschino cherries
Separate the squares of brownie mix and place evenly in a pizza pan (or in a circle on a cookie sheet). Use your fingers to press the squares together, forming a complete circle. Place in a 350-degree oven, and bake about 11 to 15 minutes. (Do not over-bake.) Remove from oven and cool completely. (You may speed this up by placing the large brownie circle in a refrigerator, after it has cooled a bit.) When the brownie circle is cool, spread the cream cheese frosting over the top. Next, drizzle the caramel topping over the cream cheese frosting, using about half of the jar. Now, place your toppings on the "pizza." You may choose from any of the above, as many as you like, and add others that appeal to you. Place each topping in a circle on top of the caramel topping, with the circles getting smaller as you move toward the center. (If you prefer, you may sprinkle your chosen toppings evenly over the entire pizza, until you have the desired amount of toppings.) I used miniature marshmallows, semisweet chocolate chips, chopped pecans, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, in rings, and a few miniature marshmallows at the center. When finished assembling the dessert pizza, cover it with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. When you are ready to serve the pizza, cut a wedge, and place it on a serving dish. Top with Reddi Wip and a single stemmed maraschino cherry. Supply a fork to make it easier to eat. It's yummy!!!

Betty's Chocolate Marshmallow Cap'n Crunch Squares Recipe

Betty changes the decades-old Rice Krispies Treats recipe into kid-friendly Chocolate Marshmallow Cap'n Crunch Squares. The flavor is changed to chocolate also. These are chewy and crunchy--a real winner!
Ingredients:
1/2 stick margarine
10.5 oz. bag of miniature marshmallows
1 cup milk chocolate chips
6 cups Cap'n Crunch cereal
Using a double boiler, melt 1 cup of milk chocolate chips. If you do not have a double boiler, use a sauce pan over low heat, and stir often. Melt 1/2 stick margarine in a large pot on the stove. Combine the melted margarine, melted chocolate, and the bag of marshmallows and cook over low heat, stirring until all ingredients are combined and smooth. Add 6 cups of Cap'n Crunch cereal and mix until all cereal is coated. Turn the mixture into a 13 inch by 9 inch by 2 inch pan (a Pyrex dish is perfect.). Cool to room temperature. (You may speed the cooling process by refrigerating for about 20 minutes.) When the mixture is cooled, cut into 24 squares (6 squares by 4 squares). Use a spatula to remove the individual squares from the dish onto a serving plate. You may stack them in layers, but expect them to be sticky--and oh, so good!

Betty demonstrates how to make White Chocolate Fondue. This is an imitation of the dessert my husband, Rick, and I shared at our recent visit to Hanger's Restaurant in Richmond, Kentucky. This would be great for holiday parties!
Ingredients (for 2 people to share):
½ of an 11-ounce bag of white chocolate chips or white baking chips
1 ounce rum (I used golden rum, but you may use light, golden, or dark rum-or substitute 1 teaspoon rum flavoring-or omit the rum entirely.)
¼ to ½ cup half-and-half (This is a dairy product that is half milk, half cream.)
large marshmallows
fresh washed strawberries (with the caps still on)
biscotti (I used some vanilla-flavored, some caramel-flavored.)
fresh pineapple, chunked
Pepperidge Farms pirouette cream-filled cookies (Mine were chocolate and hazelnut-filled.)
other dippers, as desired
cocktail picks or bamboo skewers, if needed
Place ½ of an 11-ounce bag of white chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler over medium heat. Stir until melted. Add 1 ounce rum and stir until smooth. Turn off heat and add approximately ¼ cup of half-and-half, or as much as needed to achieve desired dipping consistency. Stir until blended and smooth. You will need to add almost ½ cup of half-and-half, if you omit the rum. Stir white chocolate mixture until smooth. Pour into a cup that can be placed in the center of a large serving dish.
On the serving dish arrange your "dippers" in an attractive fashion. I used fresh strawberries, large marshmallows, fresh pineapple, biscotti, and cream filled Pepperidge Farm pirouette cookie sticks. Use your fingers for dipping strawberries, pirouettes, and biscotti. Use cocktail picks or bamboo skewers to dip pineapple and marshmallows. This is a fun dessert to serve at a party. Hall's on the River in Boonesborough, Kentucky. Boonesborough is about 20 miles from our home. We stopped by Boonesborough State Park on the way to the restaurant to point out the original location of Fort Boonesborough (named after Daniel Boone). At the restaurant, we chose Deep-Fried Banana Peppers, Snappy Beer Cheese, Fried Catfish, Coleslaw, Garlic Cheese Grits, along with a cold soda and a tall glass of iced tea. I also ordered an authentic piece of Derby Pie (made by Kern's Kitchens) to take home. We have already made deep-fried banana peppers, garlic cheese grits, catfish, and derby pie in bettyskitchen, so we visited the restaurant mainly to check out the beer cheese. I will be making and uploading beer cheese soon! We had a wonderful time (although it did begin to rain), and we are honored to have you come along!

Some places are great, if you get a hair in your food, they will serve you a new dish and not charge youOther places try and force you to get another dish, and still make you pay.
I like the first one. I figure you've grossed me out with having a hair in my food and should do be the honor of offering me a meal on the house because of it.
I'm more likely to come back, after I get over my initial fear of it happening again. Maybe you should supply a magnifying glass to the cook.
Burnt Steak

It amazes me, how many restaurant's cooks burn steak. I ask for it well done and tell them please don't send it out burnt, or i will send it back to the kitchen. It is delivered to my table, burnt black! I send it back and tell them I don't want it burnt.It would be nice if they would apologize for serving such a disaster, even if it's the cooks fault. This is just common courtesy.
The key to cooking a well done steak properly is to turn the heat down to medium on the grill and turn it continuously so that it doesn't sit too long on the burner. This will cook the meat inside better, rather than cooking the outside and serving a medium rare steak. (That happens all the time)
Some places give you a free meal if you complain, others make you wait another hour and re cook the steak. I've since given up on steak and decided I can cook it much better at home. I throw "Garlic Plus" seasoning on each side and I heat up the pan on medium heat first. Then I continuously turn my steak and don't let it sit for more than 3 to 5 minutes on an electric stove. A gas stove is much hotter, and the steak should be turned more frequently and changed over ever 3 minutes.

- People who go to restaurants may go there for food but they come back for service. This is why if you plan on putting up a dining establishment, it is essential for the food to taste great but servers should also be professional and amiable.
