I had a nephew who wanted to make some extra money during the summer so he bought a push mower and starting mowing lawns. He started going door to door and asking if they would like their lawn mowed. By the end of the month he had over 25 lawns to mow. Not only that, he asked if they had any other odd jobs that he could do. He ended up trimming bushes, cleaning out garages etc. He even had a couple ask him if he could paint their house. The next time I saw him, about a week later, he had a friend helping him mow the lawns because he had so many odd jobs.
This relationship he made with these customers also went through the fall and winter months, he build up a trust with them and the same people wanted help with raking leaves and shoveling snow.
Just goes to show you it can be done and it can lead into more than lawn care.
