Make New Years Resolutions vs. Don't Make New Years Resolutions?
HERE'S WHAT I THINK
Make New Years Resolutions vs. Don't Make New Years Resolutions?
Recent research shows that while 52% of participants in a Resolution study were confident of success with their goals, only 12% actually achieved their goals. Men achieved their goal 22% more often when they engaged in goal setting, a system where small measurable goals are used (lose a pound a week, instead of saying "lose weight"), while women succeeded 10% more when they made their goals public and got support from their friends.

When you are making your new years resolutions, don't just use the lists that you have done in past years, don't just use ones from the 10 top new years resolutions lists that are everywhere; and don't make your resolutions be ones that others think you should make. Make them your own.
Examine your life over the last year, think about the things that caused you regret, loss of sleep and general worry. Which of those things do you actually have some control over the outcome. Then identify what you can do to change how those things affect you. Create your own resolutions based on those things you have identified and those which you can cover with a goal for your new year.
View of New Year's Resolution
"A New Year's resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until fulfilled or abandoned. More socio-centric examples include resolutions to donate to the poor more often, to become more assertive, or to become more economically or environmentally responsible. People may act similarly during the Christian fasting period of Lent, though the motive behind this holiday is more of sacrifice than of responsibility. The new year resolution is one example of the rolling forecast-method of planning. According to this method, plans are established at regular short or medium-term time intervals, when only a rough long-term plan exists. There are religious parallels to this secular tradition. For example, during Judaism's New Year, Rosh Hashanah, through the High Holidays and culminating in the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur, one is to reflect upon one's wrongdoings over the year and both seek and offer forgiveness. The concept, regardless of creed, is to reflect upon self-improvement annually."

Success4ever365 says:
After some research I found out that more than 75% of people who set New Year's resolutions will break them within 3 months and almost one-third will break them by the end of January? Whether your goal is to stop smoking, lose weight, get in shape, break bad habits, pay off debt, or find true love; most people end up being another statistic.

I am all for making New Year Resolutions but I do think that people go about it the wrong way. Too much of what they do is focused on denial rather than the positive reinforcement of new behaviors that satisfy and actually provide resolution. I am editing an article on the subject at the current time and will be back in the future to share. Take care all.
