Mission: Make Own Instrumentals
With hip hop music being at an all time high...if you are a rapper, chances are you want to make your own instrumentals. Thankfully, there is a whole crapload of options available to you. Sure you could go the whole hardware route and spend a few thousand bucks on an MPC or other sampler..along with an outboard 24 track recorder, mixer, synths...eh..screw the thousands...it's more like tens of thousands!! The truth is, you don't really need all that thanks to modern technology. Software is quickly starting to dominate the music-making industry. Software features the ease of use of being an "all in one" package. You don't have to worry about separate pieces of gear, hooking them up with midi, audio....all that mess is becoming a thing of the past. We don't need it. We just want to make some beats damnit! We just want to be able to make own instrumentals!

Biggest frustration of the past: Make own instrumentals
It used to be difficult for me making beats
I would sit in front of a computer or my MPC for hours with my mind completely blank. I didn't know how to write your own beats, much less make your own instrumentals. It was a black art of sorts...I could find no worthy tutorials anywhere. It seemed like the only way to learn these tricks of the trade was to pay an arm and a leg to go to some type of trade school to have some failure of a producer try to teach it to me. I had found loops on the internet, but they were so generic sounding...and a lot of them could have come from 1988 lol. Besides, canned loops didn't have MY personality in them. I wanted MY own beats, not someone else's. I had the rhymes, but I had no beats to go with it. I need a way for me to make own instrumentals. Don't need hardware to make own instrumentals
Save yourself the cash and learning curve of making all your gear work together
So I had spent something like 10 G's on music production gear to make my own instrumentals. This included analog synthesizers, hardware samplers, analog to digital converters, studio monitors, digital synthesizers, analog mixers, digital mixers, midi cables, midi interfaces, midi keyboards, audio connectors..etc. The worse thing was that all this gear never like to work together right. Sometimes I couldn't get the midi keyboard to talk right to some synth, or the sampler was out of time with the synths,...and every time I wanted to work on a new beat, I had to find the right pattens on each piece of gear(assuming I had remembered to save them before moving on to the next one). Accomplished: using an online beat making tool!
So after all this time wasted trying to use all of this complicated hardware to make my own instrumental, I finally found the most ideal beat making tool for the job. And it happened to be software...but not the kind you have to wait forever to install on your computer...and definitely not the kind you need some type of hardware dongle stuck in a usb port or some other type of anti-piracy garbage that will slow down your progress. This particular tool was an internet based tool...it runs inside your web browser using Flash! The best thing about it is that it will run on ANY computer with internet access! I can make phat beats at my mom's house if I wanted! I could make some beats on my front porch! The interface is a very intuitive step sequencer, like that found on old school drum machines and sequencers. I had finally found the perfect tool to make own instrumentals!
