Making Your Own Windmill For Wind Power Energy
A windmill, or a wind turbine, is used to convert wind into electricity. In other words, wind power (electricity) is using the power of the wind via a windmill or wind turbine, to produce electricity.
Solar power, on the other hand, is the conversion of sunlight from the sun, into electricity. Two different energy sources that are becoming very popular amongst consumers since the going green (save the planet) trend.
The question is, which is better?

The question is, which is better?
Wind Power Versus Solar Power?
Which One Would You Choose?
Actually, wind power and solar power compliment each other.Since solar energy is not available at night for obvious reasons, you must plan ahead to store the energy produced by the sunlight. But by using both solar energy and wind power, they become if you will, intermittent energy sources.
They are also complimentary because, there is more wind during the winter season than there is in the summer, and more sun in the summer than there is in the winter months.
But, what happens on days where there is neither sun or wind? Well, obviously when you switch to either one of these methods, or both, you also learn how to store that energy for those off days.
This is usually done through using rechargeable batteries as seen in the image, and since your off the grid (you're not consuming electricity from your local electricity provider), all electricity you can sell back to them is I believe, credited to your account.

Windmill And Solar Rush!
Ever since Gore started crusading and alerting the world of global warming, there's been a sort of RUSH by your ordinary consumer to do their part in saving the planet. A lot of individuals are switching to home windmills and wind power for energy and or solar panels for solar energy, and some even both.In addition, the much televised series about Germany (and how beautiful it is), being practically totally green via wind power and solar energy, has even me thinking I should retire there.
One thing is for sure, everywhere (well not everywhere) but more and more, I see one of the two. In city areas, a lot are switching to solar panels. While in the rural areas, the concentration seems to be with windmills or both.
Again, HERE'S ANOTHER GREAT SOURCE TO LEARN MORE - IPLANET!
Is A Windmill Cheaper Than Solar Panels?
That all depends. While both can be built and or constructed for under $300 from parts from your local hardware, if one goes strictly solar panels the commercial route, and depending on the surface needed, this could get costly, upwards to $5000.The best alternative is to build the solar panels yourself as in the image shown. This solar panel was built in a weekend for under $100. It's an 80 watt panel with an allow frame. The guy who built it used THIS GUIDE.
Do You Think It's Feasable For Everyone To Go Green This Way?

- A windmill is not the same as a wind turbine. A windmill converts wind energy to rotational motion. When you add in the generator, it becomes a wind turbine. It's sad to see this misuse of terminology.
