Quick Easy Decisions And How To Make Them

how to make decisions easily and quickly without procrastinating
How often have you been faced with a decision that's really difficult to make? how often have been faced with a true dilemma? More to the point how do you decide what to do quickly?
Usually I don't have much trouble making decisions. Luckily my life isn't that complicated. Work projects sometimes need trade-offs but often they are easy to solve as a time versus money issue. Often I have nice decisions to make like where shall we go at the week-end, or what shall we have for dinner. I don't know about you though sometimes even the simplest decisions are hard to make so having something to make decision making easy and even a bit of fun seems like a good idea.
Do you sometimes have difficulty making a decision? Do you put off making a decision? If you do then why not use a simple decision maker! Stop procrastinating and just go for it! Now of course some decisions are more complex than others and there is a whole area of decision making that involves things like decision trees where you go through lots and lots of variables and all the connections. That sort of thing is OK for science and business I guess but what if you just want to make a simple decision and you are stuck? The simplest way to make a decision is probably flipping a coin. Heads, I'll do this Tails and I'll do that. Alternatively why not try a decision maker toy. You never know it might just change your life.

Between A Rock And A Hard Place
when you are stuck on the horns of a dilemma how do you decide what to do?

The reason decisions are difficult is because it means that as well as gaining something you loose something too. Very often we have to choose between two equally unattractive options. We often describe this as being on the horns of a dilemma.
Colloquially we call this being stuck between a rock and a hard place. In scholarly circles this is known as being stuck between Scylla and Charybdis who were two sea monsters in ancient Greek mythology. Sailors passing between them meant that avoiding one forced you into the path of the other.
Catch 22
a dilemma you can't get out of!
A simply brilliant novel set during World War II that follows the life of a chap called Yossarian, a U.S. Army Air Forces B-25 bombardier. He has a friend called Orr. Orr faced Catch 22 which as the author Joseph Heller explains was that:
"There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he were sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to."

Decision Making By Lottery
it's all Greek to me!
The Ancient Greeks made a decision about who their leaders were by casting 'lots' in a lottery. The technical term for this is known as Sortition. It was the idea that led to democracy. Sortitition is still used today in some constitutional situations.

- Procrastinater, describes me to a "T", or maybe not. Lots of great quotes and a lot of non-technical ways of making a decision. Got to be a favourite to come back to. And that is one decision I managed to make quite easily.

- If you have to make a complex decision decision, first you must know what you really want. If you know the destination, you will get there eventually. You must have self-confidence to decide. You cannot just flip a coin unless it is for fun. You can find yourself somewhere you never wanted to be. "Only dead fish swims with the stream".
