Cross-cultural Witnesses to India

Making a Difference

I This amazing couple and their three daughters have decided to spend the next five years living and working in India. This family is truly remarkable in every way. In 1999, Brandon and Angie made their first mission trip to India. During this exciting trip, God called them to be witnesses to India; to live, work and raise their daughters in a strange culture to try to make a difference in people's lives. They will live in a Bhula Orphanage that cares for orphans, the elderly and the sick. They will spend their time loving on the orphans and teaching English as a second language.

Why India?

India is currently the world's second biggest population at 1.21 billion people. Yet less than 3% of the population is Christian. That in itself is a compelling reason to share God's word. Even more so is the burden that has been placed in the hearts of some visiting missionaries. In 1999, two missionaries had the opportunity to go to India.

From that moment it was obvious to them that this is where God would lead them. For over 12 years, God has whispered "India" to this couple. Those whispers get louder with each passing day. Loud enough to learn the native language and teach Hindi to their children. Loud enough to sacrifice for a Master's Degree in Intercultural Studies at a seminary. Loud enough to work part time and commit to raising enough funds to support themselves for five years.

How Can You Help?

Prayerfully

As they go, Brandon and Angie will rely on your faithful prayers to prepare the way and support them in their mission as they adjust to a new life and new ministry to a new group of pre-Christians. We hope you will pray for all those families who are far from home answering God's call. And that you would pray that God might bless you in a way that allows you to be a blessing to a people and a culture who has yet to meet Jesus Christ.

Missionally

Prepare your heart and mind for a call upon your life. Isn't it amazing how the world opens up to us when we open ourselves to the world God created. Our hope is that once the family arrives in India.

I love how you mention that the whispers of God got louder and louder to Brandon and Angie...saying a prayer for this faithful couple, may they walk in the promises of God, which are yea and amen! There's a scripture that goes something like this that comes to mind, "I'm confident of this very thing that He who began a good work in will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." It just seems to fit here, not sure what version it is, seems I've memorized from different versions over time.

I love where I live and there is no doubt that it is India! The Vedic traditions that are a part of this culture needs to be preserved and sadly or gladly, it is interesting to learn that there are more Western scholars spreading the great news about this culture - starting from Annie Besant, Max Muller etc. :)

India is an amazing place. I had the opportunity to spend a month there several years ago.
