Getting Started as a Mobile App Maker
It is the App Store that reall make smartphones come alive. There is an app for just about anything you can think of, but that doesnt mean there isn't room for more. There is always room for a great new app idea.
It is these mobile applications that prompted me personally being an iphone app builder. The possibilities are endless. The actual sheer wealth of possibilities available to brand new programmers has made the iphone an attractive platform to develop mobile applications for not to mention the money making opportunities that this leads to.

Train to be a App Maker/Developer
For me, the best way to learn was to take it up as a hobby. I was keen to find out every thing I needed to know, so I basically trained myself. Through a combination of great teachnig material, books, websites and trial and error I was able to get my first app out there and things just developed from there.
Mobile App Maker Resources
I used many resources while teaching myself how to make iPhone applications. Some of the best books I used included the following:
The iPhone Developer's Cookbook: Building Applications with the iPhone SDK
This book is full of code snippets that will help a lot of people with common tasks that Apple's iPhone SDK doesn't provide. There are some code blunders in this book, but luckily they've fixed the code and put it up here. They also have movies at this site that demonstrate what each mini-project does.
iPhone in Action: Introduction to Web and SDK Development
The iPhone in Action book covers both native and web programming in step-by-step tutorials. It's a complete primer to iPhone development.
The iPhone Developer's Cookbook: Building Applications with the iPhone SDK
