I Get Paid to take Online Surveys
I am a stay-at-home mom and I have been for over 15 years. To help with the household expenses, and earn some extra income; I spent hours researching companies that will pay me to do surveys. I have discovered a quick and easy way to use my computer doing surveys earning anywhere from $2.00 to $400.00 or more. The method is free, fun and exciting. If you love being on the computer, have a couple of hours per day, and want some extra cash without spending money to start, then stop and read my blog. I want to simply share my experience with you.

The benefits of Completing Surveys Online
Helping to shape products
The main benefit that I get out of doing paid surveys online is to help to shape future products. I have taste and tested; food, snacks, paper towels, cleaning products, electronics, and personal care products. I have been able to give my opinion on my likes and dislikes about these goods and services.Another benefit is the extra income it also provides. In 2007, I made approximately $788.06. In 2008, I made about $1,156.41. This includes gift certificates, money in my survey accounts, pay pal or checks sent to me.
No, you can't quit your day job if you are supporting a family, but as a stay-at-home mom, I am able to provide additional income without leaving home.
Ready to Get Started?
Two Important Items:
1. Most Survey companies will set up an account on their site. In this account, you will see:a. Your earnings
b. List of surveys completed
c. Current balance of the money they owe you
d. What they paid out to you
2. Most Survey companies will have a questionnaire or profiles for you to fill out or update.
It is important to keep up-to-date with these forms in order to increase the surveys sent to you. Usually they will send out a reminder via e-mail.

Start a Survey Folder

When I first join a survey company, I have a folder that I called, 'Company information when registered.' This folder contains the name of the company, my password, account information and a link to their home page. If there are any changes with the company, I also place that information in this folder.
Passwords
Some of the companies will give you a password. Some will allow you to choose your own. If you choose one and it's not the same for each account, make sure you have it in your survey folder. You can also just have a notebook handle and place them there, if you are not comfortable saving it on your computer.

Online Paid Surveys: My Favorite Companies
Sign up with many
Sign up for many, many paid surveys. Did you read that I said many? Just checking. Let's say one company will pay you $4.00 per survey. If you sign up for 20 companies that pay 2 dollars per survey that is $80 extra bucks in your pocket. Survey companies vary in what they will pay so the more the merrier. I will give you tips on how to do this without getting overwhelmed.Global Test Market
http://www.globaltestmarket.com/index.php
This company sends surveys around the world. They started in 1999. I received many surveys from them but I don't qualify for all. If you try and you are not qualified, you will still earn points. I recommend that you do everything that they send you. 1000 points = about $50.00. Your points are contained in your account that is set up when you join. The minimum you can redeem is 1000 points. When I had problems with my surveys or account, I called them or e-mailed and they respond very quickly. They are a good, honest and reliable company.
Lightspeed panel
http://us.lightspeedpanel.com
This is a great company! This is a survey company that gives you points for surveys. The points can be converted to cash, Amazon gift certificate or a number of other items listed on their site. I like how they itemize every survey that you do along with the number of points received. You will know upfront how many points per survey. Points range from 50-500 points depending on the length. I had the special privileged of doing special testers with this company several times that paid $60.00 or more. I had a few problems with not getting credit for a couple of surveys.
The people were friendly, but the problem wasn't solved. In spite of that I still think it's a great company. I would just recommend monitoring your points and making sure you are credited after survey is completed.______________________________________________________________
Epoll
http://www.epoll.com/epoll/clients/index.htm
My experienced with Epoll is media type surveys. I have reviewed DVDs sent to my home or a commercial. Their incentive is huge amount of points that can be converted to a number of gifts cards or gift certificates. The items are listed on their site and you choose.
______________________________________________________________
Brand Institute- https://www.brandinstitute.com ![]()
Brand Institute is a online survey company that pays you per survey. Based on my experience, I have been paid $2.00 dollars per survey. They have a very organized member's page and you will be able to see the number of surveys you attempted to do, the ones you completed and the amount of money you received. I am listed to receive payments via Pay pal. Unfortunately I have not qualified for many surveys yet. I do like how after a few questions, it will be determine if I don't qualify so I am not wasting my time answering a bunch of questions only to be not qualified. I will continue with this company because I think it's a really one. They will also sent a confirmation e-mail if you qualified or not.
Online Paid Survey Companies II
Additional surveys
Greenfield Onlinehttp://survey7.greenfieldonline.com
This company sends me a bunch of surveys. Most of them I complete will have me entered into a sweepstakes. Some will pay you $1-3 dollar per survey. You will know upfront how much they will offer for the survey in the e-mail. Interactive surveys are great to do. They pay $35.00 for them. Interactive surveys can last anywhere between 45min to 2 hours. You are in a chat room and they want your opinion on whatever product they feature. I have been shown commercials or products and I am interacting with other people the whole time. $1-2 dollars may not seem like much but it builds. I usually request money from this company when I reach $35 or more. This is one of the few companies that seems like it takes a long time to receive my check.
American Consumer Opinion

http://www.acop.com/acopapps/RegistrationUtilities/Default.aspx
This is another one of my most favorite companies. They don't overwhelm with surveys and they are very consistent in what they paid. Surveys range from $4 to $6 dollars. If you qualify for a survey, you will get an incentive. If not you are added to a sweepstakes. I have won a few of them for $5.00. I have also done testers for this company and they will pay for that too.
Survey Spot
https://www.surveyspot.com
I think this is a great company too. Most of them you do, you won't get paid, but can spin the wheel for the sweepstakes. Some surveys will be a $5 to 25 dollars incentive. I do so many of them that I was pleasantly surprised when I looked into my account and saw over a hundred dollars.
They have a special acct. set up for you to review how much you made. You can cash out for as little as $5.00. They will send a check and they are very timely. So it's wise to do all their surveys. If they are sending too many, just do what you can. Warning, they can at times be overwhelming. One of my family members got sick of the number of surveys they sent. So I recommend doing them as time permits but if you receive an e-mail that indicate a dollar amount for that particular survey, do it right away. If you don't qualify, you can still play the sweeps.***UPDATE*** Survey Spot is now becoming a point system. I was wondering why I was getting surveys from them with a number of points in the invite. 1000 points will have a $10 value. I am not sure will all their surveys eventually be point based. I still received surveys for sweeps, and some for points. From what I can see, they still offer money for some surveys. The lowest you can cash out is 1000 points. You can request payment via Pay Pal.
____________________________________________________________
Ipsos
http://surveys.globalepanel.com
Ipsos gives points for gift cards or merchandise. My experience is that I have done surveys ranging from 1 to 8 points. I like their account summary because it list how many points you gain for each month and when you redeemed your points. I have yet to redeem, but I have enough points. The gift merchandise is easy to understand because the points are displayed by the gifts. On the other hand, the gift certificates are not. I am still trying to figure that out.
Unless of course it doesn't show because I have not accumulated enough points.
Online Surveys III

Clickiq
http://www.clickiq.com/
This is another company that you earn points from which can be converted to cash. 2500 points = $25.00. Unfortunately, I don't receive a lot of surveys, so it takes me awhile to accumulate enough points. That could be because I don't fit the profiles that they are looking for. I recommend completing all the profiles. The more profiles you fill out, the more opportunity you will give them to choose a survey that fits you. You earn points. 2500 points = $25.00.

Blarry House Research
http://www.blarry.com/home_f.html
I really like this company, but they have not contacted me in years.
I was able to be in a couple of focus groups with them. Usually in a focus group you meet at their office building with other people. You may discuss a product or view some company ideas. You have to be assertive, able to express yourself, and not shy. Generally focus groups will pay anywhere from $100-200 dollars upfront. Be prepared to spend anywhere between 1-2 hours in this setting. If you test equipment, you may be able to keep it. ________________________________________________________________
U30
http://www.u30.com/
When I first started doing their surveys, I would receive an Amazon gift certificate. The amount would range from $5 to $20. Now you may be added to a sweepstakes only but opportunity is available for testers from this company. I love testers.
I have tested clothing with them and items like underwear, tee shirts and bras. I really enjoy sharing my experience of how garments feel.
You also get to keep the product! I was paid for all testers. I did one special survey with them and received a $75.00 gift certificate for Amazon.

Q & A Researchwww.qar.com/
I actually joined this company at a kid's event in my area, but you can also join online. This company will call you and do a questionnaire over the phone. Most times I don't qualify. If you don't qualify after a number of calls, don't give up! Sometimes groups will fill up fast. Eventually you will be picked and it's worth it. This company has testers and focus groups. You may have to go in and pick up the product. They are located in Northern California so if you don't live here, well I don't know if they have other companies. Survey incentives can range from $75-200. Maybe more. Again, I just love testers!
I love giving my input on products.

Harris Poll Online
http://www.harrispollonline.com/
Another good company with lots of surveys, but only for gifts from their site. Oh did I say only, let me take that back.
If you are not into gifts then you can skip this section. The more points you make, the better the gifts. I used my points for an alarm clock radio with special sounds like birds, the ocean and a portable CD player. I also choose another soothing sound machine, CD cleaner just to name a few. Some of the gifts are: DVDS, radios, crock pot, coffee grinder etc. Higher point items: $75 gift cards, pizza oven, tents, Mp3 players, coffee pots and many more.

View Point Forum
http://www.viewpointforum.com
Another point-based company. When you get a certain amount of points you can request a check. I don't get many surveys from them, but they also offer you to create a poll. If they choose yours, you get points for that as well. I have received several checks from this company too.

Using this system can work with just about anything you receive from the company. This is my method of following up with a company to make sure that I receive a check. Most of the companies will set up an online account for you when you join their group. This account will show you how much you have earned and the surveys you completed. But, when you want the money out of the account to be sent to you, the above is a good method to keep track of when you will receive your incentive.
There have only been a few times when I had to follow up with a company. They are usually easy to work with and help quickly to solve a problem.
Surveys- part 5
Kidzeyeshttp://www.kidzeyes.com/
Got kids? Let them do surveys. My kids have been doing surveys for this group for years. This company has surveys for kids ages 6-12 years old. They will have the opportunity to not only do surveys but product testers and interactive studies. 1000 points = $10.00. My 7-year old has about $30 in her account. Once your child reaches 13, they will be converted over to Teeneyes(www.TeensEyes.com). Once you sign your child up to join they will send you a consent form to sign. They involve the parents in everything they do. If your child has their own e-mail account, you can request that a e-mail also be sent to you. It's nice to know that a company will allow children to make a difference in products!

MySurvey.com

https://www.mysurvey.com/index.cfm
MySurvey is one of the first companies I joined up with when I first started doing surveys. I have been with this company for many years. They have proven to be one of the most reliable, honest, and outstanding companies that I have the pleasure of working with. This is a survey company that gives points that can be converted to cash by a check sent to you, or you can purchase gifts on their site. At present I have over $80.00 in my account. A survey may start out with 10 points, but if you qualify, you will earn anywhere between 40-150 pts on average. You can earn much more depending on the type of survey you receive. I have completed special surveys that gave 1000 points. I had problems with doing some surveys in the past, call their office and spoke with a tech, and it was cleared up right away. Turned out to be some problem with my computer and he was able to work me through it. You have opportunity to test products or have special online surveys. They will send a survey directly to your e-mail or you can get them from their site. Another thing that stands out with this company is that if you do not wish to continue with a present survey, you can sign off and when you decide to finish, you can just log on to the site and start from where you left off. They also have an itemized list of all the surveys I have completed along with the points given for them.
More Survey Companies-Part 6
Give these a try

Opinion Square
http://www.opinionsquare.com
Is another company that offers points that can be exchanged for gifts. Most surveys that I have done are worth 200 points. If I don't qualify, I will receive a token and can use that to spin the wheel. The wheel can actually land on points or a free gift. I have received up to 250 pts just for spinning the wheel without qualifying for a survey, So SPIN THAT WHEEL! Their site has an enormous amount of gift options. I like how the site is organized in that if you just want a certain type of gift like home or books; you can choose the option of viewing the prizes, which are listed in category on the left side. Some of the gifts I have exchanged my points for are: A silver Conair sound Therapy machine. I saw the one I have on Amazon for $99 dollars. Wow, not bad that I got it for doing surveys.
I also received a Belgian Waffle machine.
***Update**** I just received a Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender with Travel Lid. It works great. I use it to make smoothies.

NPD Online Research
http://www.sweepland.com/
This is a strictly point making surveys that I can apply to the list of prizes that they offer. For example, If I have 400 points from doing surveys, I may apply 100 points in trying to win a Laptop computer and 100 points to the 5,000 cash prize, and 100 to the HD Television, or any of the prizes listed on their site. If they pick my name then of course I win. I have not won anything yet. Most of the surveys are pretty short. You may get 25 points for a survey but then you can play the various games they offer. Like they have one up that is similar to family feud. I guess the #2 answer and received 55 extra points giving my total points 80. I like this company, but it's a survey of chance, you may win, you may not.
______________________________________________________________
Myview
I have only been with this company for a few months. I have the option of waiting for My view to send me surveys or just logging in to their site under my account and doing them from there. They have some surveys that pay cash via pay pal or you are entered into a sweepstakes. You will know which is offered by e-mail or when you log into your account. I have been paid $1-2 dollars per survey. I don't visit their site as much, but I would recommend logging in to do all available surveys.

Surveys- Part 7
Got Time? If Yes, I Got More!

Mindfield suveys
http://mindfieldonline.com/
You actually get paid for each survey that you do. It seems like I disqualify for many of them, but I keep trying. The amount you received for each survey can vary from 1 to 5 dollars on average. I do not check my account frequently, but I recently I cash out at $77. Presently I have $56 in my account (as of 6/10/09).You can cash out for as little as five dollars.
_____________________________________________________________
Daily survey panel
They will send you a mass of surveys. Some I qualify for but several I do not, so it's best just to keep trying. I am new with this company so I don't a lot of experience yet. So far I have over 2,000 points. Points can be converted to cash or gift certificates. Once you are over the 2000 mark, you will be able to get gift certificate for places like Olive Garden, Starbucks, Home Depo and Amazon. You can also cash out and have money sent to your Pay Pal account. For instance, for 200 pts = 1.00 in pay pal.
Update: I now have 4,380 points in my account(as of 6/9/09). They have a list of gift cards and cash transfer to Paypal. If I choose Amazon (which is my favorite), I will get a $20 gift cert. If I choose Paypal, I will get $20 transferred to my account.
_______________________________________________________________
I think.inc
http://www.ithinkinc.com
This company has surveys that you get paid for or entered into a sweep. I have received several checks from them. I like how they have your account organized to see what surveys you completed, what I did not qualify for, and when I were entered in for a drawing.
_________________________________________________________________
Survey Savvy
https://www.surveysavvy.com/ss/ss_index.php?action=home
You will get paid for each survey you qualify for and complete. If you don't qualify you will be placed in a sweepstake. I had close to $80 in my account. I have done interactive studies with them which I received $30 for that type of survey. I have also received $20 via my pal pal account. So it pays to periodically check your accounts, it will surprise you just how quickly the money can add up in your account. Survey Savvy also has an area called, "Member Portraits" that is good to fill out more information about you in various categories. This will help to increase the amount of surveys sent to you. Presently I have $14 in my account

Surveys- part 8
more surveys continue

NationalChristianPoll.com
http://www.nationalchristianpoll.com/poll/index.html
This company asks you questions about church or religious issues. You get what they call "Thanks2Upoints". You can redeem them by looking at one of their catalogs. They offer items such as books, magazine subscriptions and gift certificates to companies. They have a category A and B. I just recently received enough points to get something under Cat. A. I requested a gift certificate to Christian book store online. Within one or two days, they sent me my confirmation number. All I had to do was go to the Christian book store website, and when place my order, I used my $15 gift certificate. The only problem I had was trying to apply it online. For some reason it didn't work,
so I simply called and placed my order.
______________________________________________________________
Start Sampling
http://www.startsampling.com/
This is actually not the typical survey site like the ones that I described. The title speaks for itself in that you request a sample of the products listed on their site, and you do a survey on how you like or dislike it. When you accumulate enough points you can exchange them for prizes. The major problem I had with this company is that they always seen to run out of prizes.
They don't have many rewards in the first place. I discontinue using this site because I was frustrated. I may give it another chance since the last time I visit this site, it looks a lot more professional. You will get what they call "miles" for visiting the site so many times, visiting a company's site, referring a friend and taking a sample survey. The miles is really points. I see again that the least point prizes are "sold out"
and the only prize they offer that has "plenty available" is a restaurant certificate. It's your call.
________________________________________________________________
E-Rewards
http://www.e-rewards.com
This company sends a nice amount of surveys and I usually get dollar amounts that vary. One may be $9.00, $7.00 or $4.50. If you don't qualify you will get .50 cents for trying. So it's quite easy to have lots of currency in this account. Right now I have about $83.00 in my account. I had more but I spent some of it. It's not a cash exchange, but rather an exchange to buy items from companies listed on their site. For instance, I used some of the money to get free blockbuster videos for 6 months. I had to print out a coupon. I can rent one free DVD each month. Unfortunately for me most of items listed on their site, I don't like. They have items like an offer for Alaska Airlines that gives you 500 Alaskan mileage plan miles at the $25 dollar level. For the clothing section if I want I could get $10 off at Macy's after my $50 purchase in exchange for my "dollars." So to each its own on this one. I have lots of "money" but the items just don't work for me. I just use it for Blockbusters and magazines since these don't have any strings attached to them.
**I have $94 in my account now(6/10/09)
Surveys- part 9
HCD Researchhttps://www.hcdsurveys.com
This is a survey company that I have only been with for few months, and I already love it!
When I started with them, I basically did innovative media type surveys, and viewed some commercials of products. Points are given which may range from 100 points or more. For every 100 points is equivalent to one dollar. The surveys you do, will be for cash and not prizes.
Right now I have 4475 which = $44.75(6/10/09) HCN surveys are not long and are very fun. Points increase pretty quickly.
______________________________________________________________
Datatelligence
This company provides online surveys along with product evaluations and focus groups. I have received testers from this company. You earn points that can be converted to gifts located on their site. Datatelligence also has sub-panels that you can join. I joined their gamers and cell phone sub-panels. Recently I was close to 2000 points in my account. According to my records one of the prizes I received from this company was a $10 gift certificate. They will also list all the surveys you completed along with how much you earned.
________________________________________________________________
Synovate
https://ask20.synovate.net
This is another one of my most favorite companies.
Recently my account had over 42,000 points. 5000 points is needed to redeem. So I had more than enough to request a check for $25.00. I also requested an addition $15 which left me with a little over 2100 points. For my birthday, they not only send a greeting, but gave me a hundred birthday points.
______________________________________________________________
Opinion.trone http://opinion.trone.com/who.asp
I don't receive many surveys from this company. I am not quite sure why I joined this one. They offer to place your name in a sweepstakes and possibly get products. I have neither won nor received products.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Test Spin - http://www.testspin.com/home
Test Spin is a good company.
I have earned $170.00 from this company. From my experience, they send me many surveys but I have not qualified for many. To my surprise, one day I went to view my account and I had $60.00 in it. They offer Amazon gift certificate once you reach $10.00 or Pay pal.
________________________________________________________________________
Buzz Sponge is an interesting survey company. You get points that can be used for Amazon or Target. I rarely visit this site because I don't receive many surveys. So if you join, do all the surveys because the points add up. You cannot redeem until you reach 4,000 points. I didn't realize that I just made over 4000. You get $10 gift certificate.
One thing I like about your profile is that it's set up like a collage. So it's exciting for me to see the pictures I placed on it as well as topics about me. Some of the topics are: What books are you reading, what songs are you listening to and what on your mind.
_____________________________________________________________
Opinion place
https://www.opinionplace.com
Opinion place is a newer company that I have not been with for long. They offer several options. You can take a survey and choose to receive money via Pay Pal, Amazon Gift Certificate and AAdvantage miles. I usually choose amazon. I will get an survey invite, and it may say, "$2.00 for this survey" and allow me to choose how I want to receive it. Each survey can range between 1-5 dollars. You can also log in to see if any surveys are available for you but they will send you an e-mail. As I stated before, I'm still new with this company.
Be Smart.......not careless!

- If the company asks you your age and you say "prefer not to answer." Companies use this information to target certain demographic areas along with race, age, state etc. of where a person lives. It's for their study, not to just be nosy.
- If the company ask you what type of car you drive and you say, "not sure." Do you think they really want to pay you to do surveys for their company?
- Don't be the fastest clicker in the world. Companies are fully aware if you are just trying to speed it up and get it done. Some surveys are long and it's just not possible to read carefully by clicking quickly through the pages.
- Some surveys are extensive, so make sure you have time to read it and concentrate. Sometimes with lengthy surveys they will say on one question, "mark #4" to make sure you are paying attention. One time I really wasn't and disqualified me for the survey.
- Be consistent in your answers. If on one page, you say you love chocolate, then the next set of questions, they ask you again and you say you hate chocolate; you are either not being honest or not reading the questions well. I love the slogan that My View (a survey company)use. They state: "The ABC's of surveys are: Always answer honestly, Be careful reading, and Check your answers!
Additonal Survey Companies: Part 10

E-search
This company does not keep track of your earnings by setting up an online account on their site. You are responsible yourself. They pay via Paypal. I have received several transactions from this company. Companies that use Paypal make it simply and easy for you to get your cash without waiting for a check. Many companies = a nice Paypal buildup. They don't send many surveys to me and probably because I don't qualify for what they are looking for. Their surveys are not long and it's worth to do.

Zogbyhttp://interactive.zogby.com

Zogby specialize in online polling from what I can see. It dose not give any incentives. I don't remember how I joined, but I don't do many of their surveys anymore. I don't complete surveys mainly because of a lack of any incentive.

Focus Forward Online http://www.focusfwdonline.com ![]()
Focus Forward Online helps companies to learn about the customer's needs and favorites things or products. Focus Forward sends online surveys that pay several dollars per survey. Money is placed into your account on their site and you cash out with a $10.00 minimum. If you are chosen for a focus group, that can pay from $75 or several hundred dollars. You can join their online survey group and/or their focus group.

Survey Exchange
surveyexchange.com
You will have opportunity to review video clips, ads of new movies or TV series.
When completing surveys with this company, you may not qualify but if they have other available surveys they will offer them to do in the same setting. They may say, "not qualified, do you want to try for another one?" KEEP TRYING even if you don't qualify! Sometimes I am denied after several tries, so this one you need the patience of Job.
If you are picked you will get a lot of points and it does not take long for the pre-qualification questions. Sometimes, you will be offered points if you are denied.

FGI RESEARCH http://ld.fgiresearch.com
I have received a lot of incentives from this company. I don't receive many surveys, but they pay on average 1-3 dollars or more. They send me payment via Paypal. No log is kept on their site so you are responsible and can check how much you earn by going to your Paypal account.
______________________________________________________________
BIG SEARCHhttp://bigresearch.com
I have been with this company for maybe a couple of years. They are basically a sweepstakes company. I'm a little weary with them right now.
They offer big prizes and money, but I have not received any. So now, I do their surveys when I have time.
_________________________________________________________________
New COMMUISPACE
Some companies will use Communispace, which is a community of people who share the same passion for certain companies or products. I have been fortunate to be in two. You basically sign on the designated website and participate in online forums, discussions, surveys and various topics. I have received incentives such as a gift card and gift certificates. I have received these monthly as long as I stayed in the group and can earn anywhere between $20-35 dollars. You can't just join, but based on surveys you do and if you fit what they are looking for, you may be asked to join from other survey companies. How I actually take surveys:
My daily survey routine

During the week, I drop my kids off at school and if I come straight home, I make a cup of coffee and tune up the computer. I check my e-mails to see what surveys are available. I usually will do the ones that I know from experience will fill up fast and the ones that will automatically give an incentive. For example, I will do all my favorites listed below.
Global market,My survey, Viewpoint, American Consumer,
Survey spot,HCD Research, Survey Exchange Datatelligence,
Test Spin, E-search, Focus Forward,Lightspeed
FGI Research, Opinion Square, Opinion Outpost, E-Rewards
My View, Daily survey panel, I think.inc, Survey Savvy,Synovate
Say Nation, My survey
Why no surveys?
There are many reasons why you might not be getting surveys

- Somehow your e-mail address could have been removed. I use to get surveys from this one company all the time and then all of the sudden, I received none. I contacted the company and was told to re-join. I did and everything was fine.
- If you have certain blockers on your computer and some companies may be mistaken as spam. One of my favorite companies Opinion Outpost, always goes to spam. I am still trying to figure out how to change that. So for now, I just remove it from the spam pile, or just go to their site on my account to see what surveys are available.
- Sometimes you just need to update. I notice that some of my profiles on one survey site (Test Spin) was really old. Test Spin stopped sending me surveys. I updated, kept checking on their site and now I am receiving surveys again. Some companies will send you a reminder to update. If they do, do it quickly. That may determine whether or not you get more surveys.
- I said it before and it's worth saying again, don't lie. You are helping the company and in turn the company is helping you. If you are inconsistent they will see that and drop you like a hot potato. Sometimes the survey question just doesn't make sense or gave me reasonable options to choose from. So a few times, I had to write in the opinion box what I felt that I didn't have good choices to choose from. So honesty is always the best policy.
- You simply may not match the profile so don't sweat it. You will eventually match what the company wants.
What to Expect When Taking Surveys
Intro. Questions
Usually when you complete surveys most of the introductory (screening) questions will be what is your:· Age
· Sex
· Range of income
· Sex
· Marital status
A. They need to know the above questions to determine what survey you will qualify for. The client may want people just under 40, or maybe they want woman who are still in childbirth years. So knowing this information will help them determine which group you belong to.
B. Next, they will get into the heart of the survey. Let's say they are promoting a special dog food. They will more than likely ask you first do you have a dog and secondly what types of food you buy for him. Once you have completed that segment, you may then view a commercial, a product, asked questions about a dog food product; or maybe be asked to test a product for your dog. Usually in the first minutes of a survey, they will be able to tell whether or not you qualify. I sometimes can tell if I won't. Like if they show me a list of alcoholic beverages and I check no to all, because I don't drink, I know I won't be able to complete it.
C. Length- Most of the surveys that I do tells you about how long the survey is before you do it. On average it's about 15-20 minutes. If it's longer, companies that pay will give you more points or money for lengthier ones. Some will allow you to save the link and return at a later time. Make sure you read what they allow. Sometimes they want you to finish it in one setting. Sometimes if you click off the link, you will not be able to return.
D. Product Test - I like to save in an e-mail to myself the date a product is to be sent out. I then can look out for the product. I get product testers all the time. I have been able to test, food, household and personal care items. I have also been able to keep logs and journals of my household activity. A few times I was able to use special devices to input my food intake. So doing surveys can be a lot of fun in discovering new products and giving my opinion of them.

- I belong to many of the above survey sites. I have received 3 $25 Game Stop cards from e-rewards in the past 18 months and recently won $150 from a Sweepland drawing! I also have received approximately $40 from Inbox, although I do not qualify for a lot of their surveys so it took me well over a year to receive it. Thanks to your info i just joined 4 more and am already amassing points. Thanks

3 tips when completing surveys
Review the companies' FAQ. In order to know exactly what to expect from each company, they will tell you what type of system they use (cash or points), whether or not they send you surveys via e-mail or on their site, and how much they will pay. I like to read this before I decide to join. Some companies will just offer to put your name in a sweepstakes. You can decide if the company is worth the time you have to spend on their format.
Tip #2
Be honest with the information that you give to them. Major advertising corporations use these survey companies to find out what people like about their product or test new ones. Sometimes they target a person based on their age or demographics. Why fill out a profile form and say you are 26, and then say you are 46 when a survey is sent to you. You give the company and yourself a disservice. I always say that it’s easy to tell the truth then try to remember the lie you told. When I first started doing surveys, I was a little intimidated that they needed so much information. Based on my experience, I deal with honest companies whose primary purpose is to help companies shape their products. They want to make their merchandise better and give the consumer what they want. Most personal information such as your income falls within a range--not your exact income.
Tip #3
Pace yourself and don't become overwhelmed with a myriad of surveys. Some people that I have given surveys to often complain that there are just too many and they give up. I recommend joining many companies, but you don't have to do them all at one time. When I am tired or feel that I have too many, I usually will work on the companies that are on the top on my list first or surveys that will expire quickly. Sometimes I will only spend so much time on a few and that's it. At times I just can't focus, so I just stop until another time. Research companies value your time and input and they would prefer you at your best. You want to give accurate and precise answers, so they can make better products for you. As you take on these wonderful and exciting surveys, you will learn what works for you. You will also learn more about which surveys you should do right away, and the ones that can wait until later.
What To Expect When Taking Surveys
When you first take surveys there are basic questions you will be asked. These basic questions are you age, income, sex, number of children you have and if are you employed or stay at home parent. You can easily breeze through the preliminary questions. When you get into the heart of the survey, pay attention. Additonal Tips for Completing Surveys
A few more tips
1.If you are mainly trying to earn extra income, then focus on the surveys that will give you points or cash per survey. I have already listed the companies that will do this. Companies that offer money per survey will fill up fast so do these first.2. Multitask. This may be hard at first but I like to pull up two to three companies at a time and go back and forth. This technique requires time. You need to have to ability to be able to stay focus as you multitask. Doing several surveys at once, will help you to complete more in a shorter time period.
3. Read the Newsletters. Survey companies will give you updates on changes. For instance, I received one today from a company that told me they were now only going to pay via Paypal instead of checks. They will also let you know if someone is trying to use their name to scam you. Remember survey companies will NEVER ask you to send them money under ANY circumstance. If a company does that they need to be reported.

The 911 on surveys

Survey Police
I stumbled across this website when I was looking for a phone number to a survey company. So if you don't believe me, why not check out this site. They list many companies along with the pros and cons of joining. Now I use them if I have trouble with a company to see how others are doing or if I decide to join a new company, I go here first! This site lists:
- Survey companies with their contact information and address
- An overall rating system which is very extensive in the questions they answer. For example, you get the percentage on how people view their incentive, any complaints, survey experience and whether one thinks it's an legitimate company.
- User reviews - this is a comment section on participants' reviews on their experience with survey companies. Hey this site is almost as good as my lens.

Beware of Sites that are Nothing but a Headache!
http://www.amylynn.org/home/blacklist1This one is called the blacklist site. Where based on others experience, these were either scam, spam or just not good sites. This is a good place to check periodically to make sure you won't get stuck with these horrid companies.
