(I) The First Thing

When you are starting out, the first thing you want to do to start making money is to loot EVERYTHING off of mobs you killed. Most of the loots can be sold.

Loot names have different colours. The colours tell you how rare it is:

** Gray - completely useless, sell to a vendor.

** White - someone, somewhere can use it; store it until you collect a stack then sell it on Auction House.

** Green - Someone probably wants it; sell it on Auction House.

(II) The Second Thing

is to buy the largest bags you can afford. The bigger the bag, the more loot you can carry, the more money you can make.

Organise your bags:

- One bag for food and drink, bandages, potion/pots, skinning knife/mining pick.
- Another bag for your mining/herbalism mats.
- Another bag for your skinning mats.
- The last is the backpack to keep loots you pick up, as it is the only bag that opens when you click on a vendor.

(III) The Third Thing

is to pick up two gathering professions from mining, herbalism or skinning. The best combination is skinning with either mining or herbalism. Once you get your two gathering professions you start levelling. When you max out the skll come back to train. If you choose mining , you can level your mining skill by smelting the ores you mine.

Bank Alt is a bank character created by wow players to mail items to and store for future use or to be sold. Sometimes it is referred to as Banker or Mule but Bank Alt has become a popular term. Every Banker needs access to 4 vital things: A Bank, A mailbox, presumably an Auction House, and a nearby Vendor.

To start a Bank Alt, create a character and name it something simple.

1. When you're working on dailies, you're going this way and that, and you really can't afford to blow your Hearthstone cooldown on a side trip to a capital city, this is where a bank alt comes in. Just send all your stuff to them, switch over, and throw the stuff on the AH. Also, If you have multiple stacks of some stuff: eg Netherweave Cloth, Arcane Dust, and Greater Planar Essences, it's nice to be able to store them so you don't flood the AH and bring down prices.

2. It is more organised so that you are able to know where to go to and find what you need and send it off to the character that need it instantly. It can be pretty annoying if you cant find the items you need in the midst of the game.

3. Being able to mail all your estra stuff to a Bank Alt to free up space quickly. When you are in the middle of a play session and you are loaded with Motes of Mana, Arcane Tomes, Sunfury Signets and various items from the outland daily circle, just go to the nearest mailbox, send them to your Alt and voila, you are ready to be out for another round of farming.

4. Once your Bank Alt can hold no more, and it is almost weekend, start posting them up for Auctions!

Some players are annoyed that they have to sacrifice one slot for Bank Alt, instead of one extra Alt that they have been thinking of making, but in the long run, you will realise that having a Bank Alt is awesome. It is a great time and space management tool. The purpose of a Bank Alt is to make money.

I'd recommend that you give it a try, especially if you're a busy 70 with bag space problems. You'll be glad you did.

(1) Get to know the Auction House Marketplace

You must know the price (highs, lows, averages) for the items that you sell. Take time to make a simple spreadsheet for these items including the stack size that you offer and the price range on both the alliance side and horde side if you have characters on both.

(2) Set the Stack Size Smaller at Auction House

Sell Oily Blackfish in stacks of 2, because buyer (alchemists) needs only 2 at a time to make their oily potions. There is NO deposit for two, which means you can always offer them for a full 24 hours and it costs me nothing if buyer come back, which they do sometimes.

Offer Mithril Bars one at a time, Iron Bars in stacks of 5 each, and Strong Troll%uFFFDs Blood in singles. You can usually get more money from SMALLER stacks and smaller stacks means LOWER deposits.

(3) Day of week at Auction House

The market is flooded with cheap items on Saturday and Sunday (good time to BUY) and hold your commodity items for Monday thru Friday or so.

Go to the AH at around noon server time and offer items for only 8 hours and pay deposit amount about one-third of that of 24 hours. You get prime playing time and there is more people to buy your items.

(4) Setting Price

Set price at a number ending in 8 or 4. For example listing an item at 98 or 96 or 94 silver is more acceptable by buyers as compared to listing at 99 silver.

It is also easier to undercut someone by a silver. For example if you want to undercut a 1 gold, 50 silver item, offer it for 1 gold, 42 silver. That shows some respect for the buyer. The same idea holds true if you are in the lots of gold range. Undercut a 50 gold item by at least a gold, not by a few silver.

(5) Consider your Auction House reputation before jacking up your normal selling price on an item just because there are none for sale. For example, just because there are none available for sale at a time, you set the price of a item for 2 gold compare to the average price of 58 silver, you might be be able to get away with it. Your normal buyer would deeply resent it and they would remember that greed for a long time.
