From the lens Making Money Online: Squidoo vs Hubpages Which is Better?.

Is squidoo right for you, would you consider both? Or is hubpages something that you do and squidoo is more of side thing?

    i tried hubs but don't really like it, i think yeh you prob could make faster money with hubs but im just too comforatble with squiddo, thanks for sharing with us all

    In have accounts with both but the squidoo page is more user friendly so I work more here... But still waiting for my first dollar from either of them

    I am a Squid Addict, definitely. For backlinks and leads into my lenses and other sites I use Ezine Articles.

    Great article, one other thing as well, Squidoo has a higher page rank so the backlink you get from Squidoo is more valuable to your SEO ;)

    In Illinois, we cannot become Amazon affiliates, so that really puts a damper on things. Will try to find something better if I can.

    dkmitchell-- I think that because squidoo puts it into a pot here you shouldn't need to worry, and that is the difference between them and other sites.

    Squidoo is much easier to edit with html than hubpages. For revenues, I have not got from one either *yet*...

    Navigated around Hubpages a bit and was never comfortable! I'd vote for Squidoo hands down! :)

    I've not been here long, but I like Squidoo and think that it is enough for me for the time being. I had a quick look at Hubpages, but liked working with the Squidoo dashboard a better experience.

    I knew you from HubPages. This is a very good comparison of HubPages and Squidoo. After writing over 50 Hubs I decided to try Squidoo. I already have six Lenses and I'm finding Squidoo much more flexible since we can use HTML in the text modules. But I will continue using both sites.

    I found Squidoo while looking for a way to promote my Zazzle store. In so doing, found a great outlet for my writing, a fun (and hopefully profitable) way to use all the info I have accumulated in computer & paper files (and in my head!). I think I'll stick with Squidoo, since I'm still so new at it. I really like it so far.

    Agreed! The best thing anyone can do is to try both of them out, see which one is a better fit for their style, and, most importantly, get to writing!

    I have been writing for Squidoo longer than hubpages. I like Squidoo better but feel Hubpages is better for more "serious" topics. I think a combination of both will probably work for most people. As they say, "Don't keep all your eggs in one basket."

    Squidoo is nice but I find it challenging to make money. I've been here over a year and still find it challenging. I joined Triond just a few months ago and make much more there. Ofcourse Hubpages is my favourite - I started there.

    I use them both. To tell you the truth I started with HP and have made really good money there... now I'm trying to diversify with Squidoo... it's always a good idea.

    I was not aware of another site except Squidoo. I came here from Ezine, which is nothing like Squidoo, but had the right to my own articles so I got a fast start. I plan to stay with Squidoo.

    Good debate topic! For now, Squidoo rules! I just don't have time to learn a new one, and the few times I've tried I found Hubs to be clunky and difficult to maneuver compared to the ease and intuitive style of Squidoo.

    ... And my security word, appropriately enough, is SQUIDAHOY! ;-)

    I like this lens. It's packed with a lot of useful info. I've heard of HubPages repeatedly but haven't had time to check them out. I'm just now making more time in my schedule for Squidoo but it's good to have this info here as well on HubPages. Nice lens.

    I find Squidoo modules offer a wide range of useful functions and of course creativity. I haven't used Hubpages much.

    Squidoo is way better for SEO purposes and making money online, because it offers quality DoFollow links and the lenses get regularly crawled by Google. This also means more traffic to your lenses. The best thing about Squidoo is that you can donate your earnings for charity and help someone in this world :)

    My comments added in the conversation above. Hubpages used to nail Squidoo in search results, but I've seen it shift quite a bit in the past year. I'm a fan of both, but Squidoo is always where most of my focus is. Great lens!

    I've considered Hubpages but I still work full time. Once I retire I might expand outward but for now I'll stick with Squidoo.

    hubpages is a bit more link and promotion based I'd say, but it does take a lot longer to get into.

    I am most active on Squidoo. I find the page templates and module choices very easy to use. I do earn money here. Have seen nothing from Hubpages, but I only have a few there. I also did not know that I had to link to my Amazon Associate account on Hubpages. I do not think it is as easy to follow.

    I've been on Squidoo since June 2009 and absolutely LOVE it! I wanted to expand and try other avenues, also, so I recently started at Hubpages. I guess I'll just try to work hard at both and see what the future holds! Thanks for your comparisons.

    Squiddo and Hubpages. These two sites are the same. I have used them both and I find Squiddo a little more appealing but sad to say, until now, I don't earn money with Squiddo. Squiddoing is only my hobby :)

    I would say they are pretty much the same, except how you earn money, as with hubpages it is a revenure sharing where the ad impressions are split between you and hubpages, Still Squidoo is becoming something i enjoy.

    I put off writing hubs for so long, but finally wrote my first one about three weeks ago - and I've now had three nice sales from that hub. Wish I wouldn't have put it off - and need to get busy with more! I love, love, love Squidoo, but diversification is an important business strategy.
