What you need to know

There is no one list or set of necessities that will establish if a kid is totally prepared to enter kindergarten.

It is helpful , however , to have a look at a general checklist to determine if your kid has the talents and knowledge that will be expected in most kindergarten classrooms around the country.

It's a good idea to look through these skills and note which ones your child has already mastered.

The next step should be to look and see which of them your kid would be able to learn fast. Kids at this age can learn and grow so fast. When it comes to a knowledge base there are certain things that children should know when entering kindergarten. Children should be able to identify the letters of the alphabet and be familiar with some basic sight words. They should understand the concept of rhyming words and be in a position to recognize pairs of them. Children in kindergarten should recognize colors and be able to sort items into diverse categories like shape, size, and color.
