Making Time Quotes

How often do we think that we haven't got enough time for ourselves and wish for more? Take a step back and look at how you really are spending your time. Is it truly that you cannot make enough 'me time' or that you're simply using up valuable time on things that just aren't all that important?

Just over a year ago, I felt like I had no time to myself. I was busy looking after a husband, young child, elderly parents and pets. I felt stifled and constantly tired. More 'me time' was definitely needed but I didn't know how to get a spare minute to myself. As an experiment, I started to keep track of what I really was doing each and every day. It's true that my day time was busy but I was shocked when I realised how much TV I was watching each evening. I felt so tired after looking after other people all day that I just became like a zombie in front of a screen all evening.

Once I saw what I was doing in black and white - it forced me to make a change. No way did I want to waste hours vegetating in front of a TV every evening. So I quit. Yup, you heard me right. I quit watching TV and suddenly I had hours and hours of time that I had free for me. Time to have indulgent bathtimes, to spend more time on hobbies I enjoy like sewing and baking (extra sessions I enjoy in the Kitchen benefit the whole family) and time to read books and have fun evenings out with female friends too and let my hair down.

Giving up TV was drastic for me - and I'm not suggesting that's what you should do. But you do owe it to yourself to at least be honest about how your time is being sucked up and whether that's how you really want it to be. You've got a choice, after all.

It's normally true that with age comes some useful realisations on how life is. One thing I've learned is just how difficult it can be to make and keep true friends. It can be easy to think you've got loads of friends and that you're surrounded with great people. But when something goes wrong in your life, that's when you'll really discover who your true and loyal friends actually are. Those people are like gold - they're utterly precious.

Without friends, life would be a terrible and lonely experience. You might not be able to catch up with your friends every single week. But do make an effort to show your friends how much they mean to you by sharing some of your time with them. Why not surprise a good friend now by getting in touch? Maybe you haven't seen them for a while. Great friendships are full of laughter and fun - and that's got to be great for you.

I don't want to get morbid, but none of us know just how long we have in this life. That makes it even more important that we really do make time for loved ones. Too many times have I seen wonderful couples being torn apart when one of them sadly passes away unexpectedly. It happened to my husband's parents when his Father passed away far too soon, leaving his Mom a lonely widow for over 20 years now. I've seen it happen to my gorgeous sister when her partner died at just 61. That's just no age at all.

You get out of life, what you put into it. That is something I truly believe. If you keep giving, then you will start to receive more too. Give more to your loved one. Give more and you will be rewarded with more. Relationships naturally have ups and downs. Staying strong and giving a relationship your all during a tough time can enrich you and your loving partnership. If you give it your very best shot, even when the chips are down, then you have nothing to feel bad about if it really doesn't work out. Because you simply can't do better than your best!

It's absolutely true that you can waste time doing a half-baked job or task which doesn't work out and needs doing over OR you can make the time to do the task right the first time and that's all you ever need to do.

In this fast-paced, technology packed lifestyle that so many of us lead, it's understandable that we constantly look for short-cuts. How can we do such-and-such quickly, what's the quickest way from A to B, why not just patch that up instead of fixing it properly? Sometimes it pays to slow down and take your time over something.

When I first started writing online, I felt a pressure to play 'catch-up' with other writers who'd already written hundreds of articles. In my haste to write, I rushed to get articles out there instead of crafting them with love and attention. Those articles were a poor reflection on me. Luckily, I did realise the need to slow down and pour all my focus and enthusiasm into whatever I was writing. And, since then my work has flourished. Life can flourish for you too if you use the same approach.
