Making You Smile Troubleshooting Your Way To Happiness
Happiness is a feeling of satisfaction, well being, and definitely peace of mind. Being happy is all about yourself. Good example, happiness can mean staying healthy, happiness can mean working the job you spent years going to college for, happiness can mean exploring your favorite hobby, or happiness can have deeper meaning such as watching your children succeed in life. What is your source of happiness?
Making U Smile has a few troubleshooting tips for achieving happiness:
Music - Music turns your mood quickly, almost instantaneous. Physically, emotionally, mentally as well spiritually music changes your inner self. Music comes in many forms but regardless of what genre you like to listen to the beautiful uplifting notes can take you away from your troubles. Can you relate to a song to an era in your life? Think about how songs take you back to what you were doing when you heard your favorite song back in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's? If you are looking for those songs try Time Life.
Laughing & Smiling- How often do you laugh and smile? What makes you laugh? Funny TV shows like "America's Funniest Videos" or better yet "30 Rock" are setting couch potatoes up for laughter. Local venues like the Arlingtondrafthouse and DCIMPROV go the extra mile to entertain with comedy for the right price. Comedy could just be the medication you need to break the ice and wake your inner soul to the idea that happiness is a state of mind.
Wake your inner soul to the idea
that happiness is a state of mind
Help & Support- Living is giving. The feeling of sincerely helping someone through a crisis or just mentoring someone who is in need will help you feel satisfied and appreciated. Allow people to help you just as much as you give help. Mentoring and donating your time to a charitable organization is a very good way to build on your positive attitude.
Practice gratitude- Don't we forget sometimes that we need to be grateful for the things we already have, we strive so hard to move forward with achievements and acquire new things that it is easy to forget at times. Remember the important things you have now, family, friends, memories of past events, and the knowledge you possess.

If you received a million
dollars would it really bring
long-term happiness?
Hobbies- Do something you love, hobbies and activities are a great way to enjoy yourself as well as take your mind off situations that can be stressful. Whatever you are passionate about or have a natural interest in needs to be developed. Demands and pressures of work, family, and various situations usually consume lots of free time. Make sure to schedule in your hobbies.
Recognize beauty- From Museums, inspirational stories, poems, libraries full of books that inspire. What do you see as beautiful, could it be flowers, a manicured lawn, and great works of art? Surround yourself with things you deem beautiful.
If you received a million dollars tomorrow, would it really bring long-term happiness? Could making you smile be as simple as the smell of fresh spring air, laughter in children, or a cozy feeling from the warmth of the sun? Happiness could come from the achievements you make from using Smart Goals. The way you feel about life has more to do with your attitude. What do you do to make yourself smile?

- Lunch Can Be A Rewarding Experience

- There is a vast difference between happiness and joy. I would prefer to feel joy because it doesn't change because of circumstances. Happiness, however, is temporary and fleeting - it comes and goes like the tide, totally dependent on circumstances. Admittedly, some people will maintain a feeling of happiness longer than others but, essentially, it doesn't stay around permanently.

- Anyone that has reached a state of permanent happiness, please tell me how you did it!
We could never understand how beautiful and joyous happiness can be unless we felt the opposite now and then.
I wept over something that hurts me today. Yet I was able to feel gratitude and peace.
I am only human, and this is the ride I am on.

- Being happy is a matter of choice. I find that happiness exists naturally, and really has nothing to do with material events. You have the choice to experience happiness or buy into what you think the world is telling you.

- Great lens. I believe when you change the way you think, which takes work but can be done, to a more positive outlook and count your blessings more often than you focus on what you think you lack can help increase happiness. And, like you said, comedy helps me a great deal (I love 30 Rock by the way.)

- I do use music to help change my mood. The right kind of music can also be a big help when I trying to stay on track with my "to do" list. For some reason, I find that I can actually focus much better.
Good article with plenty of things people can try implementing to see if they help.
P.S. Lost rules, not 24! (lol)
