My Story
Who I am, and why I believe in WA
I'm a musician by day, and internet marketer by night. Oh wait, or is it the other way around? Hm, I don't even know anymore. :)My first passion in life is music without a doubt, and ever since I was a young boy, I have always dreamed of becoming a successful guitar player.
As I got older and realized that life isn't as easy as I thought it would be, I quickly realized I had to start making good money in order to survive on my own two feet.
As most of you know, being a musician is not a very easy job. Although it is incredibly rewarding emotionally and musically to musicians, it is often not very financially rewarding. Specially in the beginning of one's career.
So... I started college, and as a full time college student and full time professional musician, I needed to find a job that would work around my schedule. So I started looking.
After a long search and many disappointments, I was very fortunate to find a job at a retail store where I could almost always decide the hours I could come in and work. Unfortunately, within a year or so of working there, the store closed, and I was left jobless once again.
So I began looking again, and I remembered a friend of mine from high school who had had some success online, and I began to look for myself.
I joined a few internet marketer's lists, and began trying to understand all that new information I was receiving in my e-mail inbox each day. Until one day I came across the Wealthy Affiliate website.
Honestly, I thought it was too good to be true, and in fact, one of the things I kept hearing from the "guru" marketers was "If it is too good to be true, it probably is." However, I figured I like Kyle and Carson's idea of an Online Internet Marketing University, so I decided to join for 1 month, and see whether it would be worth it or not.
Long story short, I have now been a member of WealthyAffiliate.com for over a year, and loving it!
Wealthy Affiliate is the ONE place on the internet where I found all the information I needed in order to become a successful internet marketer. And if I was ever confused or overwhelmed, I would simply write to Kyle or Carson in the Forum, and they would always help me out. Now I can go to school and have a job that I have full control of.

Finding a Hot/Profitable Niche Market to Promote
Finding a Market
Many people struggle a lot when they first get into internet affiliate marketing. First, it's the fact that many people think that internet marketing is easy and won't take up a lot of work or time, so when they find out that is not the case, they get discouraged. Second, I would say is the fact that when people start being exposed to all the terminology, some get discouraged as well. Well, as all successful internet marketers out there know, in order to create a profitable campaign, there needs to be a lot of research put into it. The niche you are trying to get into, the keywords, the niche market, supply and demand, etc. In this article, I intend to explain how you should do proper research when looking for a niche market to promote. So let's dive right into it.
What is a niche market? In a few words, a niche market is when a group of people search for solutions to their issues/problems and can't find many solutions. Niches are usually smaller parts of a bigger industry. Niches are great for marketers because they can usually find specific high converting keywords that are less expensive than broader/more general keywords.
There are 2 basic steps marketers take when searching for a niche market.
Step 1- Find a keyword that is NOT broad, and IS specific inside a certain industry. An example of that would be the term "weight loss" versus "weight loss for diabetics", or "lose weight before your wedding". There is simply way too much competition for the keyword "weight loss", and it would take a lot of time and money to be even get anywhere near the results of people that have been promoting those keywords long before you. Also, if you are selling a product on weight loss for women who are getting married, you want to be as specific as possible with your keyword. Those are the people that will most likely buy from you, and not those who simply search for the term "weight loss". Those people can be searching for weight loss pills for all you know, and will not do you any good. Bottom line, find specific keywords to your niche.
Step 2 - Search and determine whether the niche is profitable or not. Remember, research is key, and without research you will be shooting in the dark. There are a few things you should do when researching the profitability of your niche market.
-- Use a keyword tool such as Google's Keyword Research Tool . Find keywords with a lot of searches and then look for the one with less search volumes. This is good as you are probably finding the more specific keywords in this stage.
-- Research forums, blogs and websites to find out what kind of problems or issues people are looking to get solved. As a marketer, your goal is to provide people with solutions to their problems, as they will pay money for answers they can't find for free. A few good places to start looking for problems to be solved are: Google Groups, Yahoo Groups, Yahoo Answers, Msn Groups, Myspace, and Facebook. Look for words such as cure, repair, fix, get fixed, etc.
-- Lastly, find out if your niche receives a lot of traffic. You can do that by using web sites like Wordtracker , nichebot.com, and alexa.com .
Once you find a profitable niche, it is time to find a product to promote. Sites like clickbank.com, cj.com (comission junction) will help you with that. I recommend starting with clickbank, as it is very easy to use.
Once you have gone through this entire process on finding a profitable niche, it is time to start your internet affiliate marketing campaign with the keywords you have chosen. Good luck!

Finding Low Cost, High Converting Keywords
Finding Keywords
Keywords are key to a successful internet affiliate marketing campaign, specially if your campaign consists of some pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. However, many people out there don't know how to find appropriate keywords that will drive them both traffic and conversions (sales). There are a few things to consider when researching for keywords for your affiliate campaign. One single keyword can make a huge difference in the success of your campaign. It can either earn you a fortune, or cost you tons of money. In the next few paragraphs, I will share with you the techniques I use when researching my niche market for keywords.
First question: Are general keywords good for a campaign? The answer to this question is a big fat NO! General keywords such as money, car and weight loss will usually cost you a lot of money when using PPC, and probably not convert as well as you would like it to. Many people make the mistake of bidding way too much on broad/general, low-converting keywords. The key here is to be relevant. Relevancy is everything when it comes to internet affiliate marketing.
How are you going to promote a website and product under keyword "make money"? if you don't know exactly what your customers are looking for. If you are selling a "Make Money With Internet Marketing" ebook, pretend you are in buyer's shoes and ask yourself what you would be interested in buying? If you are interested in buying an ebook that will teach you list building. You should use keywords like "make money by building a list", or "list building ebook". As long as the product you are trying to sell has some relevancy to list building, these would be good keywords.
The people that are searching the internet for broad keywords, are usually not looking to buy anything. Your possible customers will type longer keywords in a search engine if they are interested in buying something. When someone types the word "money" on Google, they could be looking for so many things, it would be almost impossible for you to guess. But if someone is searching for "make money by building a list", we know exactly what they want. Just put yourself in your customer's shoes, and I'm sure many possible keywords will begin to come to you.
One great thing you can do is search for keywords that will solve people's problems. Words like instructions, tips, information, fix, repair, etc. are great words to be part of your keyword. People often are searching for something online because they have a problem with something, and it is your job as an internet affiliate marketer to provide customers with valid solutions to their problems. Good example of solution keywords are "list building ebook information", or "list building ebook instructions".
Another approach you can take is to find consumer demand keywords. Words like buy and purchase are great consumer demand keywords. Your customers might type in something like "buy list building ebook", and if you have that keyword in your campaign, your page might just be one of the first ones they see.
Once you have found a good niche market, and good keywords, search around to see if there are other sites using these keywords. Once you find these sites, look them up on alexa.com. A popular site, usually will have a score under 100,000. So study what that site is doing to promote their product, and implement some of what you learned into your own campaigns. Always write down possible keywords they are targeting, and use them. But remember, if too many people are using the same keyword, that means you will pay more for those keywords when doing PPC. So keep that in mind. You want a great converting keyword that is popular, but not too popular.
Remember, relevancy is key, and the more relevant your keywords are to your page, ads, and articles, the more conversion you will see, as you will be sending targeted visitors to your page . I hope I have been able to explain my approach to researching keywords. This method has made many internet affiliate marketers out there a lot of money, and now you can use these techniques to your advantage. So, let's get researching!
