Introduction to the Makita BDF452HW

As any tradesman will tell you, in order to do any job properly with the least amount of effort, you need to have the right tools. And as far as driver-drills are concerned the Makita BDF452HW is the tight tool for the job.

Why Choose the Makita BDF452HW?

makita bdf452hwThe Makita BDF452HW allows you to get your jobs done so much quicker and more efficiently than before. One of the great advantage this model has over others though is that you get a powerful tool with a long battery life. This impact driver has a Lithium Ion system with 2000 battery life cycles and longer run time, lighter weight, reduced self-discharge rate and built in shock absorbing features to protect your battery.

A particularly innovative feature of this tool is the Optimum Charger. There is a memory chip and, amazingly, a CPU chip in the charger that looks at the data in the battery chip to decide which is the best charging method to fit with how you have been using it!

The Makita BDF452HW is light and compact weighing less than 5 pounds. But despite this light weight it delivers an impressive 450 in/lbs of torque. In low gear it has a speed range of up to 450rpm, and all the way up to 1500rpm in top gear. Makita have a reputation for making tools that are ergonomically designed and easy to use and this is certainly no exception. The slightly curved handle makes for a comfortable grip with an auxiliary handle giving you complete control. Also because this is so compact and lightweight it is great to work with.

Overall, I think this a great addition to the Makita range and most definitely the right tool for the job.

What People Say About the Makita BDF452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit

"This is the second one I've owned. I install cabinets and countertops and have tried most all other types, This Makita was recommended to me by an electrician several years ago because of it's power to bore holes. I found it light( three pounds) and small and easily fit into cramped cabinets, the worklight is great, staying on for 17 seconds after releasing the trigger, this is a great plus when you get used to it. In demolition, it helps to find the old screws inside the dark cabinets. I've never had it power out, even driving #8 three inch screws. For my line of work, there is none better. "

"I have this drill since 2007 and have liked its performance so well, I purchased a second one in 2009 just to have on hand. I have several drills available and consistently go to this one for the work I do. I have read the reviews about the batteries and the wobble of the chuck and I have not had this problem on either of the 18 volt Makita drills I own.

I completed a major remodel of my home in 2007 and this was probably the most used tool. I like the quick recharge of the batteries. I purchased a 3.0 amp hour battery to go along with the two 1.5 batteries that come with the drill and three years later they are still going as strong as ever. I own a PC 14 volt drill that has become my loaner drill when somebody needs borrow a drill. I don't want to be without my Makita. I used to own a 12 volt Makita and this one runs circles around it. I can't say enough good things about it. "
