How to Choose Your Next Power Tool

I'm sure you know the reasons why a cordless power tool is the best. So, when you think and consider purchasing one, do lots of research. There are many options. When looking for a tool that has a battery operated motor (cordless power tool), which is has a power rating in the range of 18v, as that much of power should be enough to take care of even the biggest and most extensive jobs in home handyman job or trade mans use. Next thing to ensure you tool has is a variable speed electric motor. This allows you to use the drill or saw as fast or slow as you wish. Just basically avoid the single speed cordless tools as they just aren't suitable for use on wood, concrete or hard metals all in one. Also make sure your potential tool has a reverse direction switch. This is essential in using reverse drills and when fastening and loosening bolts and nuts if it is an impact driver or makita impact gun.

Here is some tips to make sure you are getting the best tools you need:

1) Make sure you get a tool that provides a manufacturer warranty. Having the peace of mind your tool is covered in case the worst happens is worth a lot!

2) Only buy from the country you are using it in. When you are on the job site, you insurance will not cover accidents related to tools not complying to with safety standards of another country. Its not worth the risk.

3) Buy a tools that suits the rest of your tool kit. If you have other dewalt tools, try and buy another dewalt tool that will have the same batteries and charger. This way adding on with skins (bare tools) will save you a bucket load.

4) Try and buy the latest technology and latest models. They change every few years and phase out the older models. These are still supported, however the best combo kits are the new deals with upgrades and add on at great prices.

5)Try and get a kit with a hard case. Some of the more expensive tools like a collated screw gun need to be looked after as they have fragile parts on them. Most tools can handle a bit of a battering however a hard case is a protection.
