When Should I Take Malarone Tablets?
If you feel you have Malaria then you should consult your doctor immediately. If you do have the illness then your doctor will prescribe the necessary treatments. However if you are looking at Malarone tablets as a preventative measure then you should start taking it around 48 hours before you enter an area that has a Malaria risk. You should continue to take the medication for a week after you have left the area. You only need to take one tablet a day.
When taking the tablet you should take it with either a milky drink or food as this helps your body to absorb more of the active ingredients in the medication.
Malarone tablets can be used for both prevention and treatment of Malaria.
