Meshio Personal Cash Flow Projector

This is an improvised version of the Cash Flow Management System I designed earlier in 2008.

Meshio Cash Flow Projector

Inspired by PocketSmith.com's calendar-based cash flow projection system, this improved Excel-based template allows you to project your cash flow months in advanced. Instead of calendar based, this spreadsheet is based on categories. Just download it and give it a go. You should personalize the spreadsheet according to your needs. I have tried to make it as self-explanatory as possible but do drop me a question here if you have problem understanding the spreadsheet.

To download the cash flow projector spreadsheet, head over to Meshio.com!

The Credit Bureau and Your Credit Rating

Keep track of your credit rating!

The Credit Bureau in Malaysia is established under the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 1958. It has been in operation since 1982. Like all other credit bureau in the world, the Credit Bureau essentially collects credit information on borrowers from lending institutions and furnishes the credit information collected back to the institutions in the form of credit report via an on-line system known as Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS).

What's the role of the Credit Bureau?

Who could request for the Credit Rating Report?

What is the Credit Report being used for?

How to obtain your Credit Report?

How to dispute your Credit Report information?

Free E-Book: How to Save a Little Fortune

How to Save a Little Fortune e-Book
This free personal finance e-book is compiled from my previous writing on how you can start accumulating wealth slowly and surely. I've done a bit of "fine-tunings" and included a few graphical eye-candies in this e-book.

How to Save a Little Fortune basically explains how by saving a little every month from your paycheck, you can start seeing your networth growing positively without the need to strike lottery.

Also emphasized in the e-Book is the automation of your wealth accumulation process. This can have a very huge impact in the outcome of your "Get Rich Slowly" scheme.

The Malaysia Insurance Planning Guide

a Meshio Personal Finance Book Series

I am sure if when you were shopping for your first insurance policy, you would have a hard time deciding how much exactly you should be covering yourself. Most, if not all the time, our coverage is determined by our budget. Although your budget is one of the important factors that need to be taken into consideration, there are many other factors that would affect how much you should insure yourself.

This guide has been written to inform you on the different types of insurance which are available for the average Malaysians and how you can go about planning your risk management.

The insurance is a very unique product in its ability to provide you a large sum of money at the time when you need it most, at a very minimal cost to you. Essentially, it works on a very basic concept of pooling funds from many policyholders whereby the administration of the fund is entrusted to a single trustworthy entity- the insurance company.

This guide will help you to understand the various characteristics of each insurance policy available in the market, and how you can use this information to make an informed decision.

The Malaysia Insurance Planning Guide is available for download now at USD 4.95.

RE: OFFICIAL COMPLAINT - Giro transfer Via Maybank2u has been rejected by HLB, but informed by Maybank
Most of the time I am in Singapore and I manage basically all my banking online. So does my HLB Amex card payments.
    I did my 1st transfer on 21 MAC 2008 amount RM500 and the 2nd transfer on 16 APR 2008 amount RM600.
I did all proper procedure as what I did for my other credit cards and my statement shown transaction approved and accepted by Maybank.
But both rejected by Hong Leong Bank.
When I return from Singapore on 20 APRIL, I receive an advice from Maybank stated the Giro was returned by HLB due to funds cannot be applied. Return reason: Invalid Account Number.
Surprisingly, I did not receive a single letter from HLB regarding the rejection.

If you have Hong Leong credit cards, I urge you to terminate your subscription. If you have outstanding balances on them, I recommend that you do a balance transfer. If you are contemplating applying for Hong Leong credit cards, I suggest that you don't. Why? Hong Leong doesn't respect your rights as a card holder and a customer.

My SO and I were victims of a scratch and win scam almost a year ago. As soon as we've discovered that we were conned, we immediately put in a request to Hong Leong to stop the transaction via their useless Dispute Form, along with the Consumer Claims Tribunal reference number, to their so-called Customer Service department.

To sum it up, Hong Leong Customer Service is a fallacy. There's no such thing. I had to discover this the hard way.

Book Reviews

Book Review: The Millionaire Next Door
A book about how the average Joe like you and me can become millionaires too.

the authors have put in a few simple-to-use equations to help you get started in calculating your finanical health. This book is important to you if you really want to understand how you can free your ankles from the shackles of debts, and how you can start moving towards that lifestyle you have been dreaming of.

My conclusion of the book: Love thy neighbour!

Book Review: Go It Alone by Bruce Judson
Bruce Judson - Go It Alone! This book will be an eye-opener for those of you who are looking at jumping out your restrictions on starting up your own business. Notice that I do not use the word quiting your job, because that's one of the last thing Bruce would recommend you doing if you don't already have a business that can support your existing financial commitments.
