Who is Malu Couttolenc Photography?
Malu Couttolenc Photography is the person behind The Little Card Shop.
I am a mother, photographer, designer and writer.
I got my Bachelor's Degree in Communications, specialized in photography, cinematography, advertising and media.
Love languages and speak English, Italian, French, Spanish, Greek and Portuguese.
On this page I will tell you a little about my life, the way I think and feel; my work as a photographer and as a writer on Squidoo.
All text and photographs on this article are © Copyright Malu Couttolenc - All Rights Reserved. The photos were I appear have been taken by family or friends with my camera.
One of my favorite quotes:
"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible"
by H.H Dalai Lama
A dreamer and sometimes a loner
Believe in a better world

People have referred to me as a dreamer because I always think that things will improve and try to avoid negative thinking. I have faith in people and want to think that the world will get better every day, no matter how bad things may seem.
I've been through good and really bad situations during my life but I don't complain; I take them all as a learning experience and smile. Whatever happened, these situations have given my life direction and led me to be the person I am today.
H.H the Dalai Lama and his teachings about compassion, among other things, are my inspiration and guides that have helped me overcome different moments in my life.
Among his books my favorites are "The Art of Happiness" and recently "Beyond Religion".
Even when I like parties, playing guitar and listening to music all day long, I enjoy moments of silence and solitude. It is then that I can meditate and focus on the things I'd like to do.
My friends mean the world to me and I treasure them dearly; as someone once said:
"Friends are the family we choose"
Traveler: adventurer and explorer
Love traveling and since childhood, due to my father's work, I was fortunate to travel to many different places. Now as a grown up I keep traveling and my life goes between Vancouver and Mexico. Whenever possible, I travel to other countries as well.
I am a history enthusiast as well because it helps us understand who we are and gives us identity.
Would love to explore and discover every country in this beautiful world. I think that wherever we go, the world offers something beautiful from which we can learn.
We just need to keep our eyes wide open.

In the jungle: Campeche Mexico
Some of my traveling pages

Speaking six languages has allowed me to communicate with all kinds of people in different countries. I can learn more about their cultures by listening to them and looking at the way they live.
A few years ago when I was traveling in Greece, all by myself, something I love doing, I went to Nafplio. One day I woke up before sunrise and went for a walk. I found some fishermen who were unloading their fish for the day.
I started talking to them; they didn't speak English or any other language besides Greek. They told me inspiring stories about their families and life and then they shared their breakfast with me which consisted of fish and bread. It was a very pleasant and fulfilling experience.
A Greek Heart
Where am I from?

You might be wondering where am I from. Well, I am a "salad". I often refer to myself with this term because I'm half French and half Spanish with other mixes in between. As I mentioned above, I live between Canada and Mexico and love these countries but my heart is Greek.
A little story:
When I was still a toddler I got excited whenever I heard the word Greece or anything related to it. Listening to the sound of the bouzouki, a string mandolin like Greek instrument gives me the chills and often makes me cry.
Then when I was 11, I learned to read Greek all by myself and then learned the language in 3 months without even attending a Greek school. Let me tell you that nobody in my family speaks Greek and didn't even know anyone in Greece back then.
Do you believe in reincarnation?

Yes, I think it is possible
AcornHaven says:
Yes Many journeys in different physical robes.
Elenaind says:
Yes
anilsaini says:
Yes i believe in reincarnation
Jewelsofawe says:
Yes. For sure.
AlleyCatLane says:
I believe so. I have read a lot of books on reincarnation and some are very compelling.
WordCustard says:
How else to explain it? There's definitely something Greek in your blood!
No, I don't believe in such things
Helenee says:
No, ma'am!
For me, life is here and now, each moment our only chance to chose between Life and Death, Good and Evil, Light and Darkness.
No excuses -- one chance, and that's all. ;-)
ShirleySunshine says:
No, because I believe what the Bible says on this subject, that we are God's special creation, but because of sin, all are lost and eternal punishment for our rebellion against our wonderful and all Holy Creater God, awaits us when this life is over, but PRAISE GOD in His love and mercy, He came Himself in the Person of His Son the Lord Jesus, to make a full and perfect atonement for sin, (as the Lamb of God) so that those who believe, and trust in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life. This truth was revealed to me when I was 8 years old, and I've proved God's Word to be true over 62 years. So I know I am not going to be reincarnated when my life ends, but transformed, given a new heavenly body like the resurrection body for my dear Lord (Philippians 3:21)
The future is so wonderful, the older I get, the more glorious it seems to me, and the more thankful I am that I have a wonderful risen, ascended and glorified Saviour who has gone to prepare a place in heaven, for all who know and love Him. I do commend Him to you!
YayasHome says:
I b'lieve that we lived in a life before the one we live now, but I do not b'lieve in reincarnation. I used to think that was the only way to explain some things. I have since come to feel that there are we simply remember things from a different level of existence than what we enjoy now.

My Work
Rewarding Experiences

Throughout the years I've worked on several projects besides photography.
The two most rewarding as a learning experience were the '98 World Expo in Lisbon, Portugal and then in 2001 working at the Cumbre Tajin Cultural Festival, an annual festival at the archaeological site of Tajin in Veracruz, Mexico.
The pyramid on the left is called the "Pyramid of the 365 Niches".
I have been working as online tech support for a couple of sites. If you ever need help, please let me know.
I also offer translation services and have worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and helping foreign investors translating legal documentation.
Besides these projects I have also done some acting and stunt driving for TV commercials
Malu Couttolenc: Photographer

The photographer behind The Little Card Shop is Malu Couttolenc
I've loved photography from a very young age. I learned more techniques and tips when I attended university. Whenever you see I will have a camera with me. If I can't take my regular DSLR camera, I will take a little point and shoot. I don't want to miss anything. I've regretted the times I didn't have with me.
My favorite images are landscapes and travel photography. Oh if I see arches, windows, signs or paths, I will get a photo for sure.
I also love taking photographs at car shows, rallies and car races. I've participated in rallies myself and it is really exciting.
My photographs have been published in car magazines among other media and public spaces.
You can also find me at my stores at RedBubble and Zazzle.
The Little Card Shop: Writer at Squidoo
Making friends

When I first joined Squidoo, I didn't know much about the site. Now I can't stay away.
Always enjoyed writing, but didn't know there was such a wonderful site where I could merge my love for photography and writing, by publishing articles about the things I like, as well as share some of my photos.
On Squidoo I have met wonderful writers who have become great friends.
Following are other pages I have published about photography, cars and other subjects.
This module only appears with actual data when viewed on a live lens. The favorite and lensroll options will appear on a live lens if the viewer is a member of Squidoo and logged in.

- Your photography is always beautiful Malu! I have yet to see one of your photos that I don't love. You truly have an eye for beauty and I believe that is because you, yourself are beautiful. You truly might well be the kindest, gentlest person I have meant on Squidoo. You are an inspiration and a calm presence during a storm :) Thank you for sharing so many details about yourself, but I really did already know you; the part you didn't tell here, the way others see you.

- I enjoyed learning about you. I'm a member of Fresh Wonders, and you have given me some great advice in the past. I've been too busy to be active in the group lately.
You just commented on one of my lenses, so I stopped by your profile page to find one of your lenses to read.
I'm so glad I read this lens today. You are inspirational and kind. It's so nice to see someone living a life of meaning and happiness!
