THERE'S NO doubt about it -- being a mom is hard work! We are  responsible for the vast majority of child rearing and on top of that some of us juggle the rigors and demands of working outside the home.

When all of the facets of motherhood pose a threat to our sanity we have an innate "mama instinct" that tells us we have to make a change. Some of us choose to stay at home full-time. Others of us work part-time outside of the home and still others dive headlong into working full-time outside of the home. And some of us merge a little bit of all of these by staying at home and using the skills and knowlegdewe've learned in the workplace to start our own thriving home businesses. We become work-at-home moms.

If you're looking for ideas, tips and inspiration for working at home, you've come to the perfect place and are well on your way to becoming a "Mama by Trade."

Most moms who aspire to work at home get a little flustered when it comes to actually earning an income and working from home. It doesn't have to be that way. Find out the next steps to take after diving into working at home.
You're a WAHM! Now What?
When was the first time you knew and felt like a real work-at-home mom? For me it was when a South Korean TV crew came to my house and set up lights. I knew at that instant I was doing more than maintaining a web site and sending out e-newsletters.
Getting the Word Out About Your Blog or Business
I asked moms what do you do to get the word out about your blog or business? Tracey, ClubMom blogger at Picture This, said she comments on other blogs and also that, "The power of a fantastic business card is underestimated!"
Finding Your Online Niche
One of the reasons I have experienced relative success with my business is because I defined my niche early. I created a web magazine around a demographic I thought was under-served on the Net.
Putting Together the Puzzle
Creating a Web site for you at-home business is more than just buying a domain and putting up text. There's an art and craft to good web design. Learn the difference between free sites and paid, professionally-designed Web sites and how they can boost your online sales.
Love Your Job
Working at home is not an easy task, especially as we juggle the demands of children and clients. But with the added advantage of loving and believing in your product, site or service you can grind through any work-related problems or issues.

    Hi Jennifer!

I really like your lens and I've added it to my Lensroll. I'm a WAHM and I work as a freelance educational publishing consultant. I recently became a Scent Consultant for Urban Botanic and I'm expecting great things!
