My Life, My Passion! 

In Order To Tell You How This Book Came About, I Need To Tell You My Story!

At twenty-five years of age (seems like a lifetime ago), I had written and published my first book "Jeremiah" and spent the next two years on the road increasing awareness with reference to the handicapped and their families. I was known as a professional speaker and advocate for "exceptional" children and spent many years working with Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments, schools and 'special care' facilities, as well as other organizations on their behalf.

For those of you who know me personally, you know that I have three adult children, as well as a ten year old grandson. Sherry, my oldest daughter, was just recently diagnosed with a life-threatening debilitating disease. We're still reeling from and learning to deal with this latest news. Our middle son Jeremiah was born prematurely and was subsequently diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, which in his case includes physical, social, developmental and mental handicaps. Jeremiah is considered 'total care' and functions somewhere between the ages of 6 and 11 months of age. That also means that he is non-ambulatory, non-verbal, diapered and unable to feed or dress himself - the full gamut. Our youngest son Jonathan, at the age of nineteen, was in a severe car accident just two months after Jeremiah was placed in a private, full care facility and to this day is still fighting his way back to total health.

With Jeremiah, physical and occupational therapy sessions were part of my everyday life, as well as the multitude of other components associated with advocating and taking care of an individual who can't fight for their own rights and/or take care of themselves. Being a full-time caretaker made me appreciate the enormity of what full health and total wellness is all about. My certifications were a natural extension of the areas of expertise that I had already spent innumerable years studying and investigating. Believe me, health is a big, big deal in our family!!

BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD ..... I BELIEVE!

** I Believe that you do not make mistakes and you do not fail - you have experiences, good or bad, and ultimately, what they become is what you make of them.
** I Believe that I have learned a great deal from the past and that I will handle whatever comes my way in the future.
** I Truly Believe, with all my heart, that we are all connected in some grand way and therefore, what affects me, ultimately affects you and vice versa.
** I Believe we should work for the common good of all - that you should want as much for your neighbor as you want for yourself.
** I Believe in a "Higher Power". I believe in me, I Believe in you and I Believe in us. Our combined energy is infinite and unstoppable ..... and the strength of our amazing indomitable spirits is immeasurable. Reach for the stars!

I'm a BELIEVER and I'm a true romantic at heart ..... And I like it that way!

We all contribute to this wonderful universe, as we learn and grow from our experiences. There is only one "you" and there is only one "me" AND we are each unique and beautiful; we are all perfect just as we are .... And together, my friend, we can move mountains; we CAN make a difference. We WILL make a difference!

One last note - don't forget to continually exercise your "mind". I love to learn! Besides my PTS and NWS certifications, I have my "Masters" in 'Diamond Grading and Identification' from The Antwerp Diamond High Council and I continue to write and read daily. I've taken Real Estate and Appraisal Courses and continue to grow through courses related to 'self-exploration', 'self discovery' and 'self-help', as offered by CAN-FIT-PRO and other organizations. Everyone, despite their societal stature/position can learn something from someone else. We are all students ..... and we are all teachers. Make sure that you always listen and learn. Be open to new experiences. Life is a journey and although our path is unique to us, we are continually 'crossing paths' with others who experience life differently. Learn from them too. I have learned 'something' of value from everyone whose path I have crossed in my lifetime to date and I look forward to the lessons that future acquaintances will bring.

What Affects One, Affects Us All! 

Six degrees of separation?

Stress has a major impact on your overall health and as such, must be managed and controlled. Sometimes sharing your concerns, while helping to educate others can help to reduce or alleviate anxiety. I've included items that pertain to illnesses that have touched my heart and my life in particular.

These are the people I learn from on a daily basis and whose lives have fuelled my passion for continual growth in the areas of health and wellness education.

My children and my husband - my family - make me want to be a better person, a better "me"; their support and faith encourages me to try to touch other lives, to reach out and to help others; to make a difference.

Our oldest child and daughter Sherry (31) has just recently been diagnosed with a life-threatening debilitating disease.

When I Dream, I Dream Big! 

Warm climates warm my heart!

Being truly healthy means taking time for yourself - time to relax, unwind, de-stress and recoup. I love the Hawaiian Islands, but any place that is warm, where you can sit and relax, take a deep breath and regenerate without interruption is okay with me. The Caribbean Islands are also a great destination when you want to get away from it all!

Although I love a great vacation south, sometimes a simple change of pace and location is just the ticket!
