Mammo's Jewels -------Gathered from Her Circle of Life

The picture here is called the Circle of Life. When I saw this picture, I knew that this was the picture that represented my collection of Mammo's Jewels. Jewels can be many different things. They can be actual jewels (gem stones); they can be people (family, friends, teachers, heroes and sheroes); they can real or imaginary; they can be anything that we have picked up along our circle of life. I also will ask you to remember----one woman's jewel is another woman's rock.

* The meaning of the "circle of life" is when you are born you live (have relationships, friends, family, boyfriends, a husband and children), become grandparents and then you die. It's in between all this we learn from others and pass the torch on to the next generation and the "circle of life" starts all over again. Life is a road with some bumpy patches, but hopefully for most of us the road is a smooth one and the odd bump doesn't deter us.
* The "Circle of Life" refers to the fact that death is not really the end but the seed of some other life. Albert Einstein indirectly spoke of it when he said that energy cannot be created or destroyed; it merely changes form.

This lens will be my opportunity to share some of the many "jewels" that I have collected along my circle of life. Some of them may make you smile and nod your head, some may make you laugh - others perhaps cry; some may make you remember some similar "jewels" from your life and some may make you frown. But always remember; these are my "jewels" and after I have shown you mine; I may ask you to show me yours!

Why I Chose Mammo's Jewels for my Lens Name

First: I am a Sister
Second: I am called Mammo by my grandkids
Third: I have a brother whom I called on to critique my Squidoo lenses. He actually said that I had some real jewels there.
He started addressing me in his emails as SisterMammoJewels and said I should use that for another Squidoo lens.

In my mind it was shortened to Mammo's Jewels!

The more you say it; the more it will start rolling off your tongue.

Can You Say Google Surfing Queen!

Computer and SquidooI have always loved surfing and searching on my computer. Then one day my surfing and searching revealed another S to me; Squidoo.
I have been lost ever since. The following is a poem jewel from an unknown author. I show it here as a tribute to surfing and searching Mammos everywhere. I also know that this could easily come from MY grand kids (maybe even my husband).

THE COMPUTER SWALLOWED GRANDMA

The computer swallowed grandma.
Yes, honestly its true!
She pressed 'control' and 'enter'
And disappeared from view.
It devoured her completely,
The thought just makes me squirm.
She must have caught a virus
Or been eaten by a worm.
I've searched through the recycle bin
And files of every kind;
I've even used the Internet,
But nothing did I find.
In desperation, I asked Jeeves
My searches to refine.
The reply from him was negative,
Not a thing was found 'online.'
So, if inside your 'Inbox,'
My Grandma you should see,
Please 'Copy,"Scan' and 'Paste' her
And send her back to me.

    You got me smiling as I admired your jewels and was wondering about the tears until I saw IL Divo and knew tat was it...Mama! The Computer Swallowed Grandma is priceless and true o many Squidoo Grandma's for for, yup....that was the laugh! This is very dear, my dear!

    I love the whole Circle of Life theme of this lens. I will shout out for my Mama; Since she has been gone, I find myself on so many days remembering some of the "jewels" that she imparted to me. I didn't always treasure them for jewels as I do now.

    Love your lens. Since my own grandmother (mammo) died just 2 years I so appreciated seeing this circle of life message. I so wish that my grandmother had lived long enough for my children to have the chance to know what some of her "jewels" were. Great job. 5 stars and a fave.

    Don't worry Mammo, there will be plenty of jewels for this lens. Very nicely done. My mom is my best friend, and worst enemy all rolled into one, but she keeps me on the right track!
