My oh my, how things have changed. Until recently, the mere mention of Men's Skin Care conjured images of sissy, wimpy, metro sexual girlie-men. "Real men" didn't use skin care products. Men are traditionally reluctant to indulge in grooming products or adhere to anything as superficial as a men's skin care regimen. At best, men are much more self conscious about purchasing skin care products than their female counterparts are. Skin care is really a science and is not only designed for the feminine gender; skin care is for everyone young and old, male or female.

While a relatively new phenomenon, men's skin care is a rapidly growing industry. Men are finally realizing that taking care of their skin not only makes them look better, but feel better as well. When you're confident about your appearance, you radiate a positive self-image. Let's face it, it's a tough competitive world and the rules have changed for men. Taking steps to look your best is no longer just an option - a man's face is his business card.

Men's Skin Care Tips

The first step in a man's skin care program is establishing a proper Skin Care Regimen. In addition, men have one particular skin care need that differs from women - shaving. Shaving is the most typical start to a man's day, and it is the first area where they make mistakes. Most pre-shave products contain irritating ingredients such as alcohol, menthol, mint, and camphor, as well as high levels of potassium or sodium hydroxide.


These skin irritants make the hair follicle and skin swell, forcing the hair up and away from the skin, supposedly allowing for a closer shave. Unfortunately, the irritation and resulting swelling cause some of the hair to be hidden by the swollen follicle and skin. Additionally, the swollen skin makes it harder for the stubble to find its way back out. If the hair begins to grow (which it does almost immediately) before the swelling is reduced, the likelihood of ingrown hairs is increased.

The shaving process itself irritates skin enough to cause havoc when an aftershave with irritating ingredients is splashed over that broken skin. Think of splashing aftershave on a cut or scrape on any other part of your body. Now, why would you want to do that to your face? Basic skin care rule number one for both men and women: If the skin care product you use burns, irritates, tingles or causes the skin to become inflamed, don't use it.

So now that you know what you're doing wrong, what should you do to take care of your skin when you shave? To start with, precede shaving with the first step on the Skin Care Regimen page - cleanse your face with one of Feierabend's Cleansers. How four Personal Fitness Trainers started an Organic Skin Care Business...

... and created a website with no "techie" experience amongst them.

Greetings! Welcome to the Squidoo Lens for the Feierabend Organic Skin Care Shop. We are located in beautiful Pleasant Valley, in the wine country foothills of northern California. We are a small team of four partners with no employees.

Before venturing into the Organic Skin Care business, the four of us were all self employed as Personal Fitness Trainers. It's a great career - but we began to realize that while we were helping our clients live better lives, our own lives were consumed by the time we were putting into our profession (sound familiar?)

One evening, the four of us were brainstorming various ways that we could increase our revenues. However, after a while it became apparent that there was one main limiting factor to every idea we came up with - lack of time. It was at that point that we all realized we needed to shift our focus from our current careers and explore a radical new career path - one that would generate income 24/7.

The analogy that really made sense with us was the correlation between the human metabolism (the rate at which one burns calories) and generating revenue. As trainers, one of our main goals is to help raise the metabolisms of our clients - not just when they are exercising, but ALL the time - so that they are burning calories while they're at work, relaxing at home and even while they are sleeping.

That's the kind of revenue generation we wanted to create - the ever elusive "residual" income that doesn't stop when we stop working for the day.

Easier said than done, right? Well, that's what we thought too. That is until we found out about the "secret weapon" that a very few, savvy individuals were using to achieve the financial freedom that we all desire! Read on.

Work, Sleep, Pay Bills, Arrrhhhggg!!! There has to be a better way!

Don't get us wrong - we loved training. Unfortunately, there was no time for anything else. Freedom, adventure, new experiences - life was passing us by while we were busy paying the bills.

As trainers, we were in the business of helping others set goals. It was time for us to set some new goals of our own: "We will find a new career that makes us happily jump out of bed in the morning, that pays the bills AND that allows us the FREEDOM to do whatever WE want for at least 6 months of the year. We will also find something that we will still be happy doing in twenty years time."

Sound unrealistic? I assure you, it's not. If we learned one thing as trainers it's that nothing is impossible! Think about your life. What is it that you really want from it? And turn off the little voice that keeps saying, "It can't be done." Because it can.

The solution...

...is so simple, I wonder why it took us so many years to find it: Make a career out of doing what you love! We thought that was what we were doing. We were close - but we were going about it the wrong way. We've now found the "right" way. Anyone can live the life of their dreams. That includes you, too. Here's how we did it.

Our passion is anything healthy, but you can apply what we are doing to any passion, hobby, skill or area of expertise that makes you happy.

As I stated before, the main limitation we were facing as trainers was that we could only train so many people. Once the training stopped, so to did the revenue. "So", we thought, "how can we reach an unlimited number of people with our interest of health and fitness?" The answer was the Internet. After a little research, we discovered a free course about Internet Marketing. "Cool", we thought. "Work from anywhere, anytime - exactly what we were looking for."
