About Manchester United

Everyone should know that Manchester United FC is the greatest football club in the world, not least in England and Europe. Based in Trafford, Greater Manchester, the club calls Old Trafford stadium its home. To put a perspective on our popularity, there is an estimation of over 300 million the number of supporters the club has all over the globe.

Manchester United is also the most successful club in the English Premiership, which is currently the richest, most popular and toughest football league in the world, according to an unofficial consensus from the world's greatest football managers. With two more league titles, they will also become the most successful English football club in history, taking over the place of Liverpool FC, who currently holds the record of 18 league titles.

Current Manchester United News

We started the season poorly, but the signs are that the worst days are behind us. Last night's win over Blackburn Rovers was relatively comfortable, and it was clear watching the game on the live English Premiership football cable channel, that the attacking axis of Ronaldo, Berbatov and Rooney will become the club's new offensive weapon to rival that of the ones from our glorious past. Alex Ferguson has found another winner.

The manager has also made it clear that he wants the team to go on a surge of winning attacking football. The trick now is to find attacking midfielders to complement the attacking trio upfront, as our middle of the park is packed with too many ball winners, and lack creativity without Scholes and Giggs.

Does anyone think that Carlos Tevez is no longer really needed at the club? Alex Ferguson appears to be intent on letting the little Argentinian forward go if he wants to, but some fans and the media are wondering why. Personally I think he is surplus to requirements and not really needed. He does have lots of energy and is fully committed when played, but is quite a headless chicken at times and one would think that an Argentinian player would be tactically more aware than Tevez.

Manchester United Players To Watch Or Remember

As with any great football clubs in history, Manchester United's legend has been based much around our players. Here are some that have made the club what it is today, and will always be remembered and cherished in the hearts of Red Devils fans.

Bobby Charlton - a survivor of the tragic Munich air disaster that practically destroyed a promising young team. Went on to lead the club to glory in later years, and was an established England international.

George Best - the Welsh wizard that took the football world by storm with his entertaining life and pop star looks and behaviour, while his footballing talent was second to none. Destroyed by excesses of drink and lifestyle in the end.

Eric Cantona - the French maverick midfielder who arrived in Old Trafford to transform Alex Ferguson's career. Led the club to many league titles and a European Cup triumph.

Ronaldo - the current darling of Manchester United fans and female fans worldwide, despite wanting to leave the club for Real Madrid in the summer. Limitless pace and has now added a deadly cutting edge to his talent.
