Spiritual art project - make a mandala
The picture on the left is part of a Tibetan Buddhist mandala - most people will never get that detailed themselves. This is real art. The design is of 6-fold symmetry, though for a mathematician it's not quite perfect in that sense. Can you see reasons why it's not?

- I had never heard of a Tibetan mandala before, but this does look calming, especially the sand one. I have to admit when I saw the compass it didn't seem as calming to me, but the sand running through my fingers as I made designs...yes I could see that :)
