Lama Karma Chopal returns to Santa Fe this weekend to create - and then dissolve - a new sand mandala deco at the Bodhi Stupa of KSK Buddhist Center off Airport Road. Losang Samten spent the past five weeks creating the fine details of a vibrantly-colored sand mandala deco at Chico State University only to destroy it as if it were a mere sandcastle Saturday. The Buddhist monk explained that the dismantling of the mandala is part of its creation, and symbolizes a new beginning rather than an end.
