I am a little superstitious in the maneki neko tradition in that if my maneki neko gets knocked over for some reason then I will quickly set him back up and sometimes I move my maneki neko in just the right spot for extra special magical good luck that it may bring me. If you want more on the word maneku the verb from which this kitty got his name please see my Japanese language blog http://japanetics.blogspot.com thanks for a beautiful lens. Hopefully Japanese will overtake French as the number one foreign language taught in American schools...lol

Nice lens! I like these kitties as well! After traveling all over Japan --Narita, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and even Hokkaido (!), I seen scores of these guys--from the little ones you can put in your pocket to the huge things you put on a counter at your store or on your mantle at home. I'm assuming you've seen "Daruma" as well. Right?

So, if we get a real cat to assume the paw up position at our own house will that bring good luck, looks like I gotta teach the cats a new trick. Nice lens, check out my cat insurance lens when you get some time, its pretty informative.
