Introducing the best hair colour around...

Manic Panic was born in the late 70s, beginning as a punk boutique run by sisters Tish and Snooky. The Manic Panic hair dyes are a small part of the range offered by the NYC brand, however they offer some of the best in bright, bold, long lasting colour. All Manic Panic products are not tested on animals and are vegan friendly.

More on Tish and Snooky

Tish and Snooky are sisters born in New York City. In 1977 they were both singers in the original lineup of Blondie. During this time they took a $500 loan from their mom and a few of their clothing designs and opened America's first punk boutique on the infamous St. Mark's Place. The name 'Manic Panic' was coined by their mom when her two daughters began rocking by night and selling by day.
Tish and Snooky began introducing their customers to vibrant hair and cosmetic products in every colour of the rainbow. They were particularly popular during the late 80s and the girls began distributing out of their little shop.
Manic Panic hit the media in the 90s and went international in the millenium.

What are they up to now?

"In between running the MANIC PANIC empire and travelling, the sisters still manage to find time to perform. They continue to rock out with their punk band Sic F*cks reuniting for special occasions like the last nights of CBGB's, Joey Ramone birthday bashes, and various animal charity events. Tish & Snooky also make frequent guest appearances accompanying greats like Robert Gordon, Ronnie Spector, Tony Visconti, and Patti Smith"

Using Manic Panic hair dyes

Manic Panic comes in 118ml (4oz) tubs. This is usually enough for a full head colour, however particularly long or thick hair may require two tubs. Manic Panic tubs are reasealable and can be stored for future use once opened.

Like other similar hair dyes, Manic Panic should be used over lightened hair. Bleaching the hair not only tones down any colour but makes the hair more porous, this allows the hair to more easily accept colour and provides a more vibrant look. Bleaching hair is a delicate process that should only be undertaken by those experienced in bleaching their own hair, or a trained professional.

Manic Panic hair dyes are ready to apply out of the jar. Gloves should be worn to protect the hands as the strong colours will stain the skin. To prevent mistakes, apply a layer of vaseline to the hairline, this protects the skin from colour. Manic Panic dyes do not contain peroxide, this means they can be left on indefinitely for a stronger colour. The recommended development time is 20 minutes to one hour. The longer the dye is left on, the more vibrant the colour will be. Heat can speed up the development process and provide a brighter shade. It is recommended to do a skin patch test prior to using the dye or leaving it on for any considerable length of time.

Manic Panic dye should be washed out thoroughly once the development time has elapsed. To avoid the colour fading, avoid using other hair products immediately. For following washes, a small amount of Manic Panic used with hair conditioner can help to keep the colour vibrant.

Wildfire is amazing, it's so vibrant! It's actually the last colour I used but it's faded to a light pink right now so I'm going to be going infra red next :)
Wildfire fades really well, I hope you love the colour and let me know how it turned out!
