Manicotti Recipe Made Simple

M anicotti is thought to be from Italy. It is a long tube shaped noodle that is often stuffed with vegetables, cheeses, sauces, and spices and cooked in a cheese or tomato sauce. This is a fast and easy pasta recipe that the whole family will love.

Manicotti Recipe Ingredients:


12 Large Manicotti Shells

4 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, Divided

2 Cups Ricotta Cheese

6 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Basil (or 3 Tablespoons Dried Basil)

1 (26 oz) Jar Prepared Spaghetti Sauce, Divided

1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese

1 Teaspoon Oregano

1Tablespoon Parsley Flakes

Prepare


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place cooking spray in a 13 x 9 in baking dish.

1. Cook Pasta according to directions on package. Rinse, drain, and let pasta dry on paper towels.

2. In medium bowl, stir together 3 cups mozzarella with the ricotta and basil. Also stir in the parsley flakes and oregano.

3. Spoon 2 cups of spaghetti sauce into baking dish.

4. Carefully stuff pasta shells with the cheese mixture using a teaspoon.

5. Place stuffed pasta on top of sauce.

6. Pour remaining sauce over stuffed pasta.

4. Bake Manicotti for 15 minutes then sprinkle parmesan cheese over top. Bake for another 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

My mother makes this recipe and I have to admit, its one of my favorites!

    Italian Food is the best. I already ate Manicotti but I haven't tried to make on my own. I am going to give a try to make one using the recipes and guide that you had included in your lens, I hope it will be a success one ^^.
