I want to be in Manicotti Heaven on Sunday...can I come to your house? As a little girl we took turns driving across town to have dinner with my grandparents each Sunday (always out to a restaurant which was a treat). They are some of the best memories I have from growing up and now that my grandparents have passed, I'm certainly glad I have the memories to cherish. On birthdays we went special places and for mine I would often pick this Italian place that had the best manicotti. I ordered the same thing every time!

You so get a Flyby Winging (buy as a swoop down can you toss up a plate of manicotti?) and it can be found among the other blessed lenses for today at Have Wings Will Bless! They may call me an aimless wanderer, but I am making a beeline for your place! ~Ren

I never would have imagined that this is how they are made. And I thought they only came all hard and dry out of boxes! But this does make sense. They are like blintzes. Wonderful - the photos are mouth-watering.

Wish I had some right now as I break for lunch...will have to make some soon -- very soon. What a mouthwatering lens! Yummmmmm.

Funny I ran across this lens as I just bought some pre-made manicotti shells. I'll be making them on Sunday so I'm glad I ran across this wonderful lens. I wanted to try making them with spinach and I had no idea that I should steam it before adding it. Thanks for sharing. Blessed. Bear hugs, Frankster

  • goo2eyes Jan 21, 2012 @ 9:28 pm | delete
i love italian food because pasta is not so fattening (i think). light dinners like manicotti with cheese and perhaps wrapped with parma ham will complete the evening.
  • kathysart Jan 17, 2012 @ 1:19 pm | delete
You are the Manicotti QUEEN! These recipes look luscious. I used to make ravioli a lot, from scratch and wow the difference is of course amazing. So now I am thinking I must make these. Yup it is on my list. Wonderful lens as are all of your lenses that I have seen. Angel blessed.

I am in the process of making the manicotti shells, and am already pleased with the results. I have made a few different recipes for the shells but I can see this is going to be a diffinate keeper. Am going to stuff them and then freeze on a cookie sheet then package so then I can just add sauce and bake. Will come back when the results are finished.
  • Deadicated Dec 22, 2011 @ 8:19 pm | delete

  • Dolly Nov 10, 2011 @ 9:28 am | delete
5 stars! (i couldnt find the stars) anyway, i loved the homemade noodles and i made my own cheese filling with cream cheese, parmesan, chedder and bread crumbs - didnt measure just threw it together. I'm glad i ran into this recipe, my picky kids also loved this recipe and it was my first time making manicotti EVER! thanks for the great turn out!

At first i made my pan too hot and it made my "pancake" noodle too dark but after adjusting it and finding the right temp, it went good throughout the whole process. Be sure to watch your noodles as the cook up quick. I halved the noodles recipe and it made about 2 (or less) cake pans full.
  • rms Nov 10, 2011 @ 9:35 am | delete
Thanks for returning with your feedback. I appreciate that. Yes, I sometimes lose a shell or two at the beginning while adjusting the temp to get it just right but once you get it, it goes smooth and quick. :)
So glad you liked the recipe.

Manicotti is a very good Italian dish and the secret behind a tasty dish it to use the freshest herbs and ingredients possible. Italian food relies on the use of fresh ingredients to supply the biggest impact on flavor as possible.

I love italian food. I've had manicotti, granted it was one of those icky Healthy Choice TV dinners, but I'm sure that if those taste okay and I do mean okay (Healthy Choice is known for their bland flavors), I'm sure home made manicotti is the most delicious thing ever. 5 stars

I am so happy that I found your lens! I love manicotti but have never attempted to prepare it... until now. 5 stars and added to my faves! Thanks for sharing.
