Man Mountain Dean was my great uncle. He died 5 years before I was born, but my father, James LaCorte, of Far Rockaway, NY, who was his nephew, remembers his uncle as one of the nicest men he had ever known. Jenny (nee Leavitt) LaCorte, my Dad's mom (my grandmother), always spoke highly of her brother, Frank and his wife, Doris. Since I am the last LaCorte in my family, I'm glad that so many websites about Man Mountain Dean are available. I have no family members left who would be able to tell me about someone who apparently was very popular in his day.

I have a really neat post-WW2 autographed letter from Man Mountain Dean on his stationary from Norcross, GA that says, "To Sgt. Mason E. Nichols Hoping all is Okay Sincerely Man Mountain Dean Now Pvt rear rank Frank S. Leavitt" and comes with a clipping from a newspaper showing him in an army uniform with caption- "KHAKI-COVERED AT LAST- When Man Mountain Dean joined the Army a month ago, the same people who make Ringling Brothers circus tents had to be called in, and by working overtime four weeks they have finally made a uniform big enough to fit. Here's the Mountain, bedecked in enough cloth to reach from here to Singapore if sliced thin enough." I got it from where they sold Mr. Nichols' estate items and would like to sell it, but don't know where is best. I checked ebay and am not sure anyone will see it there really or is even looking for his autographs there. Any help would be appreciated- post here or my email for spammers rocnarmood@hotmail.com Thanks!

Antonio Rocca, I haven't heard that name in many a year. Remember Don Leo Jonathan, Hercules Cortez, Count Billy Vargas and Cowboy Billy Watts? Loved that era. Yukon Eric and Fritz Von Eric and his many sons?

I have bought authentic Rocca autographs on eBay. Autographs often show up on programs and photo albums that were sold at arenas. Often the seller has no idea who Rocca was. It takes some time to dig into descriptions and study photos, but its there.

Man Mountain Dean also was featured in one of the Bowery Boy movies,

Any clue on where to get some authentic Antonino Rocca memorabilia, autographs? I live in Tampa, FL & unfortunately moved here in 1997 & didn't get a chance to meet Gordon Solie.
