Old Dog Develops New Skin....

I have been trying a sample pack of the Mannatech Optimal Skin Care System for awhile now,  and I am quite amazed at the subtle but noticeable difference in how I look and how my skin feels when I daub on the products.

Now the face that is obscured in the thumbnail above, by my little daughter, is a 59 year old face that has been in the sun doing construction work, frozen as a kid in the Minnesota winter, and wrinkled by lots of concentration in graduate school.  It is a face that has not been pampered with any cosmetic application.  I have not even used after shave or cologne since my college days, nor do I put anything on what is left of my hair.

So for me to try an Optimal Skin Care System is an extraordinary trick, but  the products are made by Mannatech, and I have used glyconutritionals made by Mannatech with great success since 1998, so I thought to myself, well, maybe there is something for me to learn here.

So I sent off to Japan for a sample pack, and cloistered myself in the bathroom to daub on and rub in the products.  I had to read the directions, some of which made no sense, like rub the product on from the bottom of the face upward, but I did it anyway.

My thought was that I would use it for awhile secretly and see if my wife noticed a difference.  That would be proof that it worked, if the beauty queen in her noticed a change in ol' leatherface (that is me) since I am older than she.

Well, there I was one night, and in to the bathroom walked my wife as I daubed on skin cream.

She did not say a word but her eyebrows raised several widths, and I saw a look of fear in her eyes, caused by who knows what thought, which was quickly masked, and I knew I was in for some ribbing. And so it has gone, my Optimal Skin Care System experiment has become fodder for family mischief.

I however remain undaunted.  I am going to wear one of those masks to bed soon,  in hopes of silencing the guffaws.  But that could backfire, when she puts on the flannel long johns.
