About traffic exchanges

Advertising in traffic exchanges might not be the most effective way, but it's easy and free. You can drive thousands of visitors to your sites with little effort. Unlike in "autosurfs", visitors you get from manual traffic exchanges will actually look at your page.

The following list of traffic exchanges is often checked and updated. You can be sure that they all will work and deliver traffic to your site. Some of these also have additional features, like geotargeting or banner exchanges.

Note: traffic exchanges are NOT to be used with Squidoo lenses. If you want to promote Squidoo there, you should create a splash page describing how cool it is, and put your referral link on it.

Please vote for your favorite traffic exchange; and if the one you're looking for isn't there yet, you can even add it to the list!

Tips for surfing traffic exchanges

  • Create a short, catchy splash page to advertise in traffic exchanges, instead of your main site or opportunity.
  • While your page has to grab the attention of the surfers, you should avoid using sound or excessive flashy graphics. Make it nice and simple!
  • Bookmark all your traffic exchange login/surf URLs in a single folder. Use "Password saver" whenever possible. When you want to open all the surfbars at once, just click "Open All in Tabs".
  • Don't waste your time surfing just one traffic exchange, when you could be surfing 10 at once!
  • Do not put your lenses in traffic exchanges - they break frames, besides, Squidoo rules forbid that as well. Promote a nice splash page describing how cool Squidoo is instead!

Use Firefox to surf traffic exchanges

Learn how to use multiple Firefox profiles

Firefox is one of the safest browsers around, even more so if you install the NoScript add-on. Plus, it's tabbed browsing features help a lot when surfing many traffic exchanges at once. You can also use AdBlock to block specific ads instead of blocking everything with NoScript, and enable graphics only for the traffic exchange surfbars to save your bandwidth.

You probably won't want NoScript and other plugins to interfere with your regular surfing. In that case, you should create a new Firefox profile just for using traffic exchanges. Click Start>Run, enter 'firefox.exe -profilemanager' and create your new profile. Once you are done, you can activate it using a special shortcut (add '-p ProfileName -no-remote' to the end of your regular Firefox shortcut).
