Manuel Pertegaz The Teruel dressmaker
At just 12 years of age, Pertegaz discovered his love of dressing women and started practicing on the women and friends of his family. 12 years later he had already opened his first Fashion House in Barcelona which he named after himself. He is now 85 years old, just reaching retirement and receiving this commission puts the finishing touches on a brilliant career which in its own right has been awarded for dedication to the world of Haute Couture. The prodigious Oscar for Fashion from the University Harvard; Gold Medals from Cairo; City of Mexico, New Orleans, Berlin, Boston or Barcelona; the commendation of the Royal Order of Isabel the Catholic and the Cruz de Caballero de San Jorge are just some of the prizes he has been awarded....
