    Great information Marbar. I'm currently considering a MAC purchase so it's good to know what it CAN'T do as well as what it CAN do.

    Some useful stuff here, but most of all as a PC user for my Kleeneze business I'm being put - off from buying a Mac. Not sure that the benefits of a Mac outweigh the drawbacks.

    Bought my first Mac in 1984, and my most recent MacBook Pro 3 months ago -- most types of apps are now available for the Mac. Their products last forever which offsets the pricing. Used macs that have 1-2 years on them are terrific buys. One of the most important diffs b/ a PC and Mac is there is no master file register that defines the file type, size, etc. on a Mac like there is on a PC. Each Mac file contains a header file that defines it. If this file becomes scragged on a PC, it won't ever know what kind of files you have, whereas on a Mac, you never have to worry about losing that info.

    Hi I Have a macbook dual core 2.4ghz.
    I use windows to sell on ebay.
    i'd prefer to use mac but can't find suitable lightweight image editing software..In paintshop pro(windows xp) i can browse images ,resize and paste on a canvas with my own background ,i then embed this into my html, it really is a cinch and costs nada nyet zilch, i use my own server for hosting .i can't see iphoto as a simple means of doing this and gimp wont run on osx 10.5.8 ...help!!!
    btw i think Garage sale is a ripoff

    I use shortship on both my Mac and I am 10.3. It works fine with my computer. Make sure you turn on Shortship.
