March Madness: Indianapolis Hosts Final Four 2010
March Madness means NCAA basketball at its best. The best NCCA Division 1 men's college basketball teams will be battling for a national title.
Who will be this year's Cinderella team? Who will shoot the next game winning buzzer beater?
Our family loves watching college basketball games and rooting for our favorites like: Duke, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Michigan.
My husband's fifth graders get caught up in the excitement, as well. They write letters to the colleges in the tournament. It's cool to see the neat stuff they get back. They make pennants and jerseys to display in the hallway. Filling out their favorite team's bracket is a must.
This year is more exciting for us because it's in Detroit, Michigan, our home state. This may be one of the best events to be held at Ford Field after our dismal Lions went 0-16.

The countdown is underway to another celebration of Big Ten Basketball. The
2009 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament returns to the hoops capital
of Indianapolis and the world's finest basketball facility at Conseco
Fieldhouse. Wisconsin will try to defend their 2008 title. Each school has a designated meeting place in which they are invited to eat and drink with fellow students and alumni: The Ram (Illinois), Jillian's (Ind iana and Iowa), Slippery Noodle (Michigan State), Hard Rock Cafe (Minnesota), Houlihan's (Northwestern), Champps (Ohio State), Alcatraz (Purdue), Harry & Izzy's (Penn State), O'Reilly's (University of Michigan) and Buffalo Wild Wings (Wisconsin).

2009 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball March Madness Tournament
The '2009 NCAA Mens Division I Basketball Tournament' was a tournament involving 65 schools playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of mens NCAA Division I college basketball as a culmination of the 2008?09 basketball season. It began on March 17, 2009, and concluded with the championship game on April 6 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, where North Carolina defeated Michigan State to become champion. The 2009 tournament marked the first time a Final Four had a minimum seating capacity of 70,000. The University of Detroit Mercy hosted the Final Four, which was the 71st edition.
Prior to the start of the tournament, the top ranked team was Louisville in both the AP Top 25 and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Polls, followed by North Carolina, Memphis and Pittsburgh.[http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings?seasonYear=2009 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Rankings (Mar. 16) on ESPN.com] Only the Tar Heels of North Carolina were the regional winners and played in the Final Four.
For the first time since seeding began, all #1-#3 seeds made it into the Sweet 16, and for the third consecutive time, all #1 seeds made the Elite Eight.
