An Online Event By NICU Parents for NICU Parents

 

The NICU Expo is is an Online Event being hosted by three former NICU Parents and NICU Parenting Experts to raise awareness about parenting in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or the NICU.

The NICU Expo was to have been held during November, which is Prematurity Awareness Month for the March of Dimes.

Participants in this Virtual Conference will be able to find information and meet other NICU Parents. The virtual setting is a perfect environment for parents who may have problems getting away and traveling a long distance to get to a F2F (Face to Face) convention.

Your NICU Expo Hosts - Three Former NICU Parents 

Dr. Kirsti A. Dyer - Kelby Carr - Dr. Kristie McNealy

The NICU Expo is being hosted by three former NICU parents with different areas of expertise.
  1. Dr. Kirsti A. Dyer - Parent of a Sick Newborn/NICU Survior, Expert on Grief in the NICU, Promoter of Aftercare for NICU Parents and Ways of Interacting with Your Newborn, Author of NICU Parent eBook, For Those Who Hold the Littlest Hands.
  2. Kelby Carr - A three time NICU Parent, as a Parent of a Premature Singleton, then Parent of Premature Twins, Experience with Coping When Your Twins or Multiples are Separated in the NICU and with Coping with Fear of Having a Preemie in the NICU.
  3. Dr. Kristie McNealy - Parent of a Premature Baby, Promoter of Family Centered Care in the NICU, Creator of Special birth announcements and baby books for preemies, First-Hand experience with Coping While Being on Bed rest.

Prematurity Awareness Month - A Campaign to Save Babies from Premature Birth

November is Prematurity Awareness Month sponsored by the March of Dimes; this campaign highlights efforts by the March of Dimes to prevent premature births.

The NICU Expo is being held in November to highlight awareness about many of the special issues surrounding parenting premature babies and sick newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or the NICU.

Type-A Mom, hosted by former NICU Parent of Twins, Kelby Carr, is a site designed to be created and maintained by the real know-it-alls in parenting, the moms. Type-A Mom is one of the first sites for Moms that included a section for the NICU.

NICU 101, hosted by former NICU Parent Dr. Kristie McNealy offers support and unique products for premature and NICU babies. The site hosts a forum for NICU Parents and provides unique NICU homecoming birth announcements.

  4. A list of products hand-selected by your Former NICU Parent Hosts as good resources for NICU Parents.
  5. A discussion board or forum for participants to ask questions of our NICU Parent experts.
  6. Raffles and/or drawings for useful products and resources for NICU Parents and families.
  7. Recordings, transcripts or handouts of presentations from the NICU Expo that participants can listen to or refer to again after the convention.
  8. A Downloadable NICU Expo Packet of promotional coupons, special offers for products of interest to NICU parents and links for downloadable eBooks.
