This person is my Superhero because...

Marcus is a hero because he stands for honor, courage, committment, and his country. He's a hero (though he'd say he's a patriot, not a hero) in the truest since of the word.

The Lone Survivor

Book Reviews From Amazon

"This book takes you inside the Navy SEALs training program in Coronado. You are with Marcus Luttrell throughout BUD/S and Hell Week. You fly with him and his teammates in a C-130 to the Hindu Kush, where the hunt begins for bin Laden's right-hand man. But then it all goes terribly wrong, up there in the mountains of Afghanistan.

This book, written by Patrick Robinson, reads like a fast-paced thriller, told in Marcus's understated voice. It is a rivetting, important, sad story of lost friends, valor, courage and the intricacies of modern war. It is an important book, destined to become an American classic. " -- Jengo

"I can say without a doubt you will be floored by what this guy and his team went through. I don't think Hollywood could make up a story this intense and horrific and not have us all say "Come on, one person could not have had all this happen to him". But it did happen and the fact that he survived this ordeal is absolutely amazing.

...the second half of the book is one of the most unbelievable stories of survival that I have ever read." -- Family First

"I have read a lot of war books, and I do not think I have ever read a more gripping account of prolonged close combat than "Lone Survivor." The way these four guys fought off a determined taliban force is just an amazing testament to the SEALs' fighting ability and their valor. Luttrell's survival of the battle and continued survival in the Pashtun mountain village are so unlikely that one can't help but think this is a work of fiction, except you know it actually happened." -- chessgeek

Marcus' Dog Daisy Murdered by Punks

t's incomprehensible how some people are capable of such heinous acts. This time they picked on the wrong Navy Seal and Marcus pursued them, guns in tote, in a high speed chase across numerous Texas counties until the police finally caught the perpetrators.

Is this person your superhero too?

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

You bet. Great pick.

Dianne says:

Absolutely. No one could ever possibly understand what these men and women do to protect their country unless someone has "walked in their shoes" (boots)

John says:

I guess if this man cannot be your hero, then you lack even the tiniest bit of humility needed to realize that heros need not fit your ideaology. He is not a hero because he is a soldier, he is a hero because he defines service above self.

Don Truitt says:

Yes,he is a great American and loyal patriot. We own him and his fellow soilders our upmost respect and honor. Iam proud to be from a country where we have brave soilders who protect our families and country. Thank you, Sir for your sacrifice and duty to our country.

Marie says:

Yes, he is both patriot and hero. More than that he is an honorable man who deserves our deepest respect for a job well done and for his undying respect for his commrades. God bless Marcus.

Shaun says:

hell yea himm and all the lost heroes of seal team 10

Marichele says:

Yes, he's a true American. He makes America the Home of the Brave!

Ivar says:

Yes he is...no doubt

cab says:

Marcus needs to run for President. What a nice guy and he really gets it.

No. Please pass the peas.

    Hi There,
I am a Squidoo-ite myself, Marketer Dianne. I also have blogs, one of which is about politics. You can check it out here: politickedwatchdog.com. I stopped working on it for a while but picked it up again the other day when the government decided to put the Navy SEALS on trial. I am linking your page to Marcus' name in my blog. Hope that helps. This is an American tragedy.

P.S. I made this lens for the Squidoo Superheroes Project

I was invited to participate in the Squidoo Superhero Project, making 5 lenses in 2 weeks about the people who have inspired me, mentored me, changed the way I look at the world. The people I just want to say a big loud public THANKS to.

If you buy anything from this page, you'll automatically (for free, of course) be sending a royalty straight to the Squidoo Charity Fund, which pays out to nonprofits like JDRF and Room to Read and Donors Choose every month.

Check out my other Superhero lenses!
