Many Hats, One Squid!
Squidoo is a UNIQUE place. I've spent a LOT of time here. I've helped out as Citizen Squid twice, and will probably do that again in the future. I've had LOTD. I've had lenses up for awards. Because of my Squidoo pages I've been contacted by journalists, writers, television casting agents and so many others. I've earned money. I've bought Squidoo lenses and I've sold Squidoo lenses.
I suppose I know almost as much about Squidooing as anyone else here.
Now I'm a Squidangel. That's unique to Squidoo too!

Here's the thing... I Like Good.
Squidoo needs to be GOOD.
So many of us have so much time invested in Squidoo.It needs to be GOOD.
The better the lenses are on Squidoo, the better traffic we draw here. The better traffic we draw, the more money we make and the larger, and more loyal, of an audience that we build.
The more loyal of an audience, the stronger Squidoo becomes for the long term.

I like Squidoo'rs that are easy to see.Are you in groups? Fanclubs? I notice.
Are you leaving comments? I notice.
Are you active in social media? I notice.
Do you post in the lounge or comment on Squidoo blogs? I notice.
Active Squidoo'rs who care about their pages and care about the Squidoo community are always my favorites.
I don't need PERFECT. I just need GOOD.
Every Squidoo Lens is a Work-In-Progress
If I have learned ANYTHING about Squidooing, it is that every lens can always use SOME updating.Times change, news changes, issues change, interests change.
So your lens will never be perfect (except for his). That's ok with me.

I Like the Basics Covered
There is LOTS of help on the basics.
By the time you see me, ideally you will have all the basics covered.

- Your bio should have something worthwhile in it. The 'here's my bio, I can edit it later' indicates to me that you are 'jumping the gun.'
- A photo in your introduction module. Nobody will display or support your page without a good intro picture. If they won't, neither will I.
- A genuine introduction. You cannot tell the entire lens story in the introduction or your visitors (and maybe mine) will just click right out of your page, and maybe out of Squidoo altogether. That doesn't help you, and it doesn't help anyone else either.
- Real titles for each of your modules. Default module titles are a prime sign of an unfinished page.
- Can I contact you? If your 'contact me' function is off, then you need to at least have a guestbook for me to leave a comment. If you have no guestbook, then your 'contact me' function needs to be ON.
- An Avatar. Placeholders are for members, NOT lensmasters.

Squidoo is all about PERMISSION Marketing
I respect and defend that.
The entire premise of Squidoo, and the ONE THING that makes it so special for marketing, is that it is PERMISSION based.Your page needs to be inviting, not high pressure.
An invitation welcomes people to consider what you are offering- your viewpoint, your recommendations, your products.
High pressure or black hat tricks drive visitors away and leaves a bad taste in their mouths.
Blessing or Bust!
ONLY Squidangels can do this!
The superpower of a Squidangel is only this:You can get a lensrank boost by a blessing OR
You can get a lensrank bust by a thumbs down.
I have given both.
No one but a SquidAngel can do this for you. It lasts a few weeks, no longer.
But in that few weeks you can rank higher in Squid-Search, maybe get more visitors, and you will have CERTAINLY gotten more visits and more supporters.
Squidangels are the ONLY ones who can affect your lensrank to such a degree, and for such a long time.

- Congradulations on your angelhood. You're certainly qualified. I've found your lenses to be unique and, in many cases, thought provoking.
One I especially liked was "What's Wrong with Barney." Barney always bugged me too, but I never really thought about why that was. But I think your right, he's basically disingenuous and dishonest. As a kid I always liked Dr. Seuss. Two of my favorites, then and now, were Horton Hears A Who and McElligot's Pool. They both teach great lessons. In the case of Horton Hears A Who, compassion for others, and as for McElligot's Pool, the power of imagination.
I'm still a newbie and have only made three lenses so far. I would appreciate any input you might have on them.

- Congrats on being an angel. No surprise, as your lenses are wonderful and enlightening.
I am relatively new on Squidoo so not too many lenses yet as I am committed to quality, not quantity, but I love my Angelica lens about, drumroll....Angels! and my fan letter to my husband's great artwork: Beautiful Art from Richard Burns. All of mine are still works in progress. Any suggestions are welcome. this lens is definitely 5* as all your other lenses that I have visited.
