Which Margarita Machine is the Best for Frozen Drinks?

Margarator or Margaritaville?

Frozen drinks are very popular when you are out but are becoming more and more popular as an "at home party" drink offering. Tropical, Parrotheads, Margaritaville and beach theme parties want to include those fancy, umbrella wearing drinks.

The Margaritaville line is older and tied to Jimmy Buffett and that gives the line instant authority and recognition. But what of other alternatives that are a bit less expensive? Can they stand up and be noticed?

I, personally, fly with Jimmy on this debate! I never had a problem with my machine and like that it is made with a heavy duty motor -- needed for crushing or shaving ice. We've used it for many parties and get togethers!

So, which do you prefer? The Margaritaville Bahamas or the Nostalgia Electrics Margarator

My favorite Frozen Virgin Margarita Recipe

Lime wedge (optional)
Coarse salt or coarse sugar (optional)
1 6-ounce can frozen limeade concentrate
3/4 cup orange juice
2/3 cup unsweetened grapefruit juice
25 to 30 small ice cubes (about 4 cups)
Green food coloring (optional)

In a blender, combine limeade concentrate, orange juice, and grapefruit juice. Cover and blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend until slushy. If desired, tint with a few drops of green food coloring. Pour into glasses. If desired, garnish with citrus slices or umbrellas.
