Olive Marie Osmond (born October 13, 1959) is an American actress, singer, doll designer, and a member of the show business family, The Osmonds. Although she was never part of her family's singing group, she gained success as a solo country music artist in the 1970s and 1980s. Her best known song is a cover of the country pop ballad "Paper Roses." In 1976, she and her singer brother Donny Osmond began hosting the TV variety show Donny & Marie.

The Osmonds are an American family music group with a long and varied career that took them from singing barbershop music as children, to achieving success as teen-music idols, to producing a hit television show, and to continued success as solo and group performers. The group originally consisted of brothers Alan Osmond, Wayne Osmond, Merrill Osmond, and Jay Osmond. They were later joined by younger siblings Donny Osmond, Marie Osmond, and Jimmy Osmond.
Older brothers George Virl Osmond, Jr. (Virl) and Tom Osmond were born deaf and did not originally perform,Biography: The Osmonds, Pure and Simple (documentary) although they later made occasional appearances, most notably on the family Christmas specials from the 70s.
Despite the ups and downs of a career in show business and religious values that did not fit with the popular perception of pop-music stars, the Osmonds achieved remarkable success. They still perform with various line-ups and as soloists.

I just went to the Marie doll signing at the Flamingo in Las Vegas she was so nice she stayed with the group most of the day she was so thoughtful tryed to give each person her time and attention. I saw the Donnie and Marie show later that evening Wow! it was great and boy can she sing ~ I want to go again

This woman is incrediable. I have had the chance to meet her many times. And each time was better than the last. She did so well on DWTS. But it is a shame that some of her fellow Celebrities(Whoopi Goldberg)choose to critisize her instaed of looking at all the hard work she did. Marie is awesome!
