Marion Jones and "Press Pause"

John Singleton, director of such films as "Boyz N The Hood" and "Four Brothers," has just released a documentary of track star Marion Jones, called "Marion Jones: Press Pause."

Jones, who denied for years and then finally admitted to using anabolic steroids, served six months in prison for perjury related to investigation of her steroid use and another check fraud charge. The documentary focuses on Marion Jones' life, from her early years to her release from prison and return to her family.

"A much darker reason"

"My film on Marion Jones will chronicle the arc of her long journey through becoming a world class athlete at the top of her game, at the top of the world stage," said Singleton, "with all eyes of every country and the eyes of the whole athletic world on her for a positive reason to a moment in time in which she had those same eyes on her for a much darker reason."

Jones won 5 medals at the Sydney, Australia 2000 Summer Olympics, but eventually gave back all those medals and all prizes she had won since 2000 due to her admitted use of anabolic steroids. Now, with John Singleton's film, she seems poised to begin a new life.
