The Alliance for a Living Ocean, ALO, is a well-known 20-year-old grass roots non-profit organization. As a complement to the mission of the Museum of New Jersey Maritime History, ALO has taken up residency in the Museum to continue its efforts to educate the public about that which impacts our Marine environment.
In addition to these two organizations sharing this space, there is a lending library furnished with several computers & study areas open to the public. Free, unlimited use of on-site wireless internet service is available for guests during their visit.
MNJMH was constructed and furnished privately with a 35-year collection of maritime memorabilia, with no financial aid or grants from any governmental agency. Its future is contingent on the support and generosity of those who recognize the importance of preserving the rich maritime history of New Jersey.
This lens has been created to raise awareness about MNJMH & its value to the great American heritage related to the Atlantic Ocean. Join the adventure!
