- He started his first company, Microsolutions, in 1983 which he sold in 1990 for $6M
- In 1995 he and a friend started Audionet.com, which became Broadcast.com. It was acquired by Yahoo! and Cuban received $6.9Bn in Yahoo! stock.
- He bought a controlling interest in the Dallas Mavericks in 2000. Their record improved from 40% to 69% under Cuban
