Market America Review

Is Market America a scam or pyramid scheme? We will examine precisely this in the following review.

So by now, you have no doubt heard of the growing company that is Market America. Market America was founded in 1992 by James Ridinger, formerly of Amway. Their Corporate headquarters are located in Greensboro, NC.

Market America has made popular a term called the "unfranchise." This refers to the ability for people to basically own a franchise without all the hassle that normally goes into it.

Market America is basically a brokerage and internet marketing/sales company. What Market America does is find a need for a specific product and then contracts a manufacturer to do their thing.

Once the product is ready, Market America will leverage their nationwide sales force to bring the product to market. Pretty cool idea actually.

So, how about the business opportunity? Market America is a network marketing company. For those unfamiliar with the concept, each business owner, or "unfranchise" owner will develop their own business by recruiting more people into the company.

What this does is use the concept of leverage once again to drive earnings for the person at the top. Now Market America also uses a BV or Business Volume system to determine payouts.

The BV system works like a point system. Say for every 100 dollars spent, you get 80 BV. Once your BV gets to a certain level, you get paid.

You should also know, that as in other network marketing companies, you are encouraged to buy products and begin recruiting from within your "warm market" which typically includes your family and friends.

Hotel meetings and product parties are also the norm in this business structure. If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, than Market America could be a good fit.

So are they a scam? No, they are a network marketing company that distributes products all over through its "unfranchise" owners.

It is now up to you to determine if you see yourself in a structure like the one mentioned above.

Good Luck out there!
