Marketing With Squidoo

Introduction to Squidoo Marketing

I enjoy marketing with Squidoo and it is working better every month.

Squidoo is rather difficult to explain. Here is part of the explanation of a Squidoo lens, taken from the FAQ:

"SO, WHAT'S A LENS?"

"A lens is one person's view on a topic that matters to her. It's an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and thousands of products from hundreds of other trusted merchants. You can pick whatever content you want to put in your lens to bring context to your topic. Then, when someone is looking for recommended information, fast, your lens gets him started and sends him off in the right direction. It's a place to start, not finish."

I have been experimenting with a few different approaches to marketing with Squidoo, and I like using the link lists, RSS feed syndication, Amazon products, CafePress products, and feedback modules the best.

If I create a new category of lenses on Squidoo, I add that category to one of my main blogs and syndicate the blog posts in that category on the appropriate lenses. It works.

As more modules are added, it takes a bit of experimentation to find what works for you and what doesn't. Marketing is an art, not a science, so what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. It takes testing and tweaking to improve the effectiveness of your lenses.

Squidoo ranks highly in the search engines and this is a good way to build link love back to your other sites, blogs, and forums.

Try it. Highly recommended.

Market Yourself on Squidoo

You are an expert on something!

Are you an expert on something? Build your own Squidoo lens and tell the world. It's free, and you may even earn some money from it.

Build one lens or a hundred or more. It's up to you.

Every organization, business, team, nonprofit, church, school, or club should have a lens telling us about yourself. Point back to your own website, or use your lens instead of a website.

If you have a blog, you can syndicate the feed from that blog using the RSS module. You can see some examples in this lens.

Or, if you are a bit more ambitious, every member of your organization can have a lens and you can create a group to tie them together.

The possibilities are endless!

Build your Squidoo lens today!

Enrolled one month and a few days ago! I like how the search engines view Squidoo, of course. However, I've been surprised that I'm enjoying the community so much. Feels good!

I have only recently begun using Squidoo for backlinks to other money sites - but I can attest to the fact that Googlebot indexes linked pages very quickly.

John -- Thanks for the support with regards to my grassroots effort -- I generally like to drive traffic both to and from my Squidoo lens for a synergistic effect. I blog about Squidoo and of course I've written lenses about my blogs -- and I market through my websites. Terrific resource you've set up. 5*****

Marketing is everything, creating the lens in the first place is only the opening move. 5*****

Making a lens is only, well, 10% of "the battle; marketing it is the rest. Great lens!

I think that there are many non profit organizations that could use social media better to get the word out about what they're doing. So as a social entrepreneur, I built http://www.squidoo.com/angelfoodministries lens.

I have lots of home business lenses though too.
