In this lens I like to show you the most essential questions we ask clients and ourselves on every project. They are applicable in most advertising situations and I hope it helps you sell more of "your thing". Here we go:
WHAT IS YOUR PRODUCT(s) OR SERVICE(s) ?
WHAT ARE YOU REALLY SELLING?
WHO IS YOUR PRIMARY TARGET AUDIENCE OR BUYERS?
WHO IS YOUR SECONDARY TARGET?
WHO COULD BE THE THIRD POSSIBLE TARGET?
WHO IS YOUR COMPETITION AND THEIR STATUS IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE FROM YOUR COMPETITION?
WHAT ARE THE KEY BENEFITS OF YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE?
WHAT DO YOU WANT THE TARGET AUDIENCES TO DO?
All this questions are just a few examples of the questions you need to ask yourself. They look logical and easy but the real surprises are in the answers.
All the answers will point at the "KEY MESSAGE" so your target audience will perform the "action" you want to achieve (call, buy, inform, motivate...)
The methods are many to reach your targets, you can appeal to their emotional feelings or their logic.
The impulse buyer will go for the emotion and the logic buyer will go for price in this rude example.
Depending on the product or service your message must have a crucial component and that is "the difference" from your competition that make you unique and special.
Ask yourself today many more questions (on paper) detach yourself from the business (out of your square)
